[00:00:00] I think I'm saying that we struggle all our lives to answer it. That it's the struggle that is important. That's what helps us to define our place in the universe.

[00:00:10] This is, uh, Beverly. Dr. Beverly. Dr. Dr. Beverly Crusher.

[00:00:16] Honest. Forceful. Trusting. Brilliant. Strong. And adventurous. And this is Crusher Convo.

[00:00:28] Hello guys and welcome to Crusher Convo where we are crushing the conversation one episode at a time. Tonight we see what the upper deckers go through on a normal day to day on the Cerritos as we talk about, as you guessed it, upper decks. So let's start with this clip.

[00:00:47] I refilled the hyposprays. We're good to go next time some virus makes everyone sing or whatever.

[00:00:53] Shut up and leave me alone!

[00:00:54] Ho ho! Someone woke up on the nasty side of the bed today.

[00:00:58] Spare me your s**t, Westlake.

[00:00:59] Nobody else is gonna put up with you, honey.

[00:01:02] Apparently some of the crew don't like my pain management.

    [00:01:04] Uh, because you don't?

[00:01:05] Okay, I gotta say this real fast. I was very excited to see the other crew members.

[00:01:12] I've been complaining about it since the start of this season.

[00:01:16] Especially like Shaxx and Tiana.

[00:01:19] And of course we have this scene with Tiana with her nurse, obviously.

[00:01:27] And I don't know about you, but I feel like this was an homage to Beverly and Alyssa Ogawa.

[00:01:36] A little bit more funnier.

[00:01:38] But yes, all of them were going through different things as we noticed.

[00:01:42] And we got to see like their day to day.

[00:01:45] The one confusing factor was Shaxx because all of a sudden he was in that meeting and he's having these hallucinations.

[00:01:53] And I wasn't sure what was happening.

    [00:01:57] What was happening there.

[00:01:58] So, uh, before I continue, I'm going to go ahead and check the chat.

    [00:02:03] Hello, Chuck.

[00:02:04] How are you this evening?

[00:02:06] And there's Captain Quadrant saying hello to Chuck.

[00:02:11] So, um, thanks guys for joining me.

    [00:02:13] I've had a very long day.

    [00:02:15] Very exciting day.

[00:02:16] But a very long day.

[00:02:17] And so I kind of bumped up my, uh, my time because I have a lot of editing to do after this.

[00:02:21] So, yeah, I just wanted to mention that real fast, but back to the episode.

[00:02:27] Um, so yeah, the first thing we actually see is the lower deckers and they are doing a pumpkin carving.

[00:02:34] And Mariner comes in with paint all over herself.

[00:02:37] And she was saying she got trapped in this mission or trapped in a painting.

[00:02:41] I believe she said, and Boimler was jealous.

[00:02:45] And then he kind of just started talking how boring it is for the upper deckers.

    [00:02:50] Okay.

[00:02:51] So the senior officers obviously is what they're talking about and how they're the, the exciting

[00:02:56] ones of, of the Cerritos.

[00:03:00] And lo and behold, we start to see the different, um, different things that each of the bridge

    [00:03:09] crew goes to.

[00:03:09] And we had started off with their morning briefing.

[00:03:13] And it's kind of like the same morning briefing that we saw in the next generation and where

[00:03:18] she's going through each of the department security and, you know, engineering and sick

    [00:03:24] bay and all that.

[00:03:25] And just seeing like what's going on and, and anything that needs to be fixed.

[00:03:29] And of course with Tiana, she is being told that she's not given enough pain meds, which

    [00:03:35] makes sense.

[00:03:36] And that's why her nurse, uh, Westlake was like, cause you don't give pain meds.

[00:03:41] You kind of just let people suffer.

    [00:03:43] Right.

[00:03:44] And she decided to take it upon herself to up the ante with her tolerance level.

[00:03:50] And so the majority of the episode is Westlake, absolutely torching Tiana, um, with multiple

[00:03:58] different things that of course we'll kind of get to what happened at the end of that

[00:04:03] when, uh, the big surprise that happens.

[00:04:05] I'm trying to remember though.

[00:04:07] I only got to see the episode a couple of times.

[00:04:09] I didn't get to see it as much as I like to, but I think the lower deckers like Mariner

[00:04:13] and Boimler and Tendi and Rutherford, I think they went into a, a holodeck to go like chill

[00:04:19] and have fun because they knew nothing that happened on the ship, which kind of cracks me

[00:04:26] up a little bit on how that goes.

[00:04:28] Hey Dave, thanks for joining.

[00:04:31] Like I said, I had to bump up the time.

[00:04:33] So I'm glad I got some people in the chat today.

    [00:04:35] Let me check Instagram.

    [00:04:36] No one there yet.

    [00:04:37] So sorry.

[00:04:38] Um, so you guys let me know what you thought of this episode.

    [00:04:43] I didn't love it.

    [00:04:46] I didn't hate it.

    [00:04:47] Okay.

[00:04:49] Um, I did enjoy seeing each, uh, you know, with Billups and Chats and Tiana and Freeman.

[00:04:56] Um, I did like seeing them have their own story.

    [00:05:00] I don't know.

[00:05:02] There was just something about the episode that just didn't really grab me.

[00:05:07] Like last week's episode, I can watch over and over again.

[00:05:11] And it's not even just because of data.

[00:05:13] There was just something about this that was just like, okay.

[00:05:29] Um, oh, and ransom, uh, ransom.

[00:05:32] He just, it just reminds me of what Mariner had to go through.

    [00:05:37] Right.

[00:05:37] When he was her senior officer as an ensign, basically do what he wants, but not have them realize that that's what they did.

[00:05:46] Um, and of course they're doing, as you can see my little thing there, it says that's not a space cow, which was the, I wrote it down.

[00:05:53] And actually it's one of my, um, um, um, um, it's, it's one of my, uh, tricorder ratings.

[00:06:02] Uh, the bagoons, very adorable little creatures.

[00:06:04] Well, not little, but very adorable creatures.

[00:06:06] Um, I kind of enjoyed them and they're trying to, they had a scientist come on from Starfleet.

[00:06:14] He was going to be studying them and they couldn't like, they were running havoc all over the cargo bay.

[00:06:20] And it was like the, what was it?

[00:06:22] The Delta shift and beta, I think it was.

[00:06:28] And they were just arguing and stuff, but they ended up working together.

[00:06:30] And it was because ransom was doing these odd things where they were like, okay, he's not helping.

[00:06:34] So we're going to have to help each other. Right?

[00:06:37] So in a sense, he got them to do exactly what he wanted them to do.

[00:06:40] And that's what he was saying in his personal log.

[00:06:43] And everyone had a personal log to kind of note what they were going through.

[00:06:49] I'm looking at the chat right now.

[00:06:51] Oh, I got a bunch of stuff. I better check out here.

[00:06:54] There is David. Hello there.

[00:06:56] Thank you for joining me tonight.

    [00:06:59] Um, Dave. Yes.

[00:07:01] So glad to catch you on the live again. Yes.

[00:07:03] Um, like I said, I usually start at 5 PM Pacific standard time, but I had to start early an hour earlier because I had a very excited thing that happened that I'm going to talk about soon.

[00:07:13] So I can't wait to talk to you guys about that.

[00:07:16] Um, I, I liked seeing how the other side worked.

[00:07:20] I did too, because like Mariner and Boimler said, they're like, Oh, nothing happens with the upper deckers.

[00:07:26] We get all the fun and we have to deal with all this stuff.

    [00:07:31] Not necessarily true.

[00:07:34] And because I think because they are upper deckers, right?

[00:07:37] They are the senior officers.

[00:07:38] They don't necessarily, and I don't want to say that the lower deckers brag about it, but they kind of just like, all right, this is just a normal routine.

    [00:07:45] This stuff happens.

[00:07:46] We just get it done and then you move on.

    [00:07:47] Right.

    [00:07:49] So that was interesting.

[00:07:52] David says, in my honest opinion, this one didn't have the cleanest through line.

[00:07:56] It was more about the big nets and connecting them with sort of an afterthought.

    [00:08:02] Yes, yes.

    [00:08:04] I, I agree.

[00:08:05] That was just something that was missing that I just couldn't get into the story.

[00:08:14] Uh, Dave did say, but I didn't love it.

    [00:08:16] I give it a 7.5 out of 10.

[00:08:19] I don't need to rewatch it, but I enjoyed it.

    [00:08:21] Yes.

[00:08:22] Um, so yeah, so I guess we're all on the same page, which is great.

[00:08:26] And it kind of reflects in my tricorder rating.

[00:08:29] Not a lot of people actually voted.

[00:08:31] And that's always a clear indication when someone doesn't really enjoy an episode is when I don't get a lot of votes.

[00:08:39] So, um, I do want to talk about Freeman.

[00:08:42] I thought, I thought actually hers was funny because she was kind of going through her day to day as being a captain.

[00:08:48] And it just kind of reminded me of Picard in disaster when he had to go be with the kids who won the science fairs.

    [00:08:57] Right.

[00:08:57] He's doing this kind of mundane thing, but he has to do it as a captain.

[00:09:03] I'm going to give these kids a tour and it just showing what she has to go through.

[00:09:07] And of course she has, I wrote his name down.

[00:09:12] Um, I guess you can call him her, her secretary and Stevens.

    [00:09:19] Okay.

    [00:09:20] So she has Stevens.

[00:09:22] He has a little list.

[00:09:23] He's like, all right, these are your appointments.

    [00:09:25] Boom, boom, boom.

    [00:09:26] Boom.

[00:09:26] She goes to, I guess, a recital for that ensign who was evolved, de-evolved.

[00:09:32] Um, so Genesis, she had that Barkley, uh, pretymorphosis syndrome.

    [00:09:39] I hope I said that right.

[00:09:41] And I think, you know, she's trying to enjoy it was okay.

[00:09:46] I kind of saw a little Riker and Troy moment.

[00:09:49] So as they were watching and it wasn't actually, um, the recital, there was a meta poetry reading

    [00:09:59] going on.

[00:10:00] So it reminded me of the next generation.

[00:10:02] I want to say it was schisms where Riker had fallen asleep and Troy had to hit him and

[00:10:10] he started clapping too soon.

[00:10:13] I think that was, I think that was a little Easter egg, a little call back from that.

[00:10:18] Chuck said, I wasn't expecting an episode about upper deck trading cards, upper deck or trading

[00:10:23] cards, upper deck or trading cards.

    [00:10:26] Did I miss something?

[00:10:27] Chuck, you gotta explain this.

[00:10:30] I'm not really sure what you're talking about.

[00:10:32] I've now, I feel like I have failed in, uh, paying attention to that.

[00:10:36] So let me know what you're talking about.

[00:10:38] Um, so anyways, with Freeman, she's going through and she kept mentioning about, I really need

[00:10:43] a couple of hours later of, of just me time.

[00:10:46] He's like, no, no, no.

[00:10:47] We got to go through this.

[00:10:48] And she's like, no, it's really important, but we're not really sure what she's talking

    [00:10:51] about.

[00:10:52] As of course, this is all going on.

[00:10:54] Tiana's being shocked to death.

[00:10:56] Shaxx is going through this whole hallucination and visions things that I believe Bajorans go

    [00:11:03] through.

[00:11:04] I just don't understand why he's going through it.

[00:11:07] So does he go through this all the time?

[00:11:09] I know he was saying he had to try his, you know, inner peace and be Zen and not be angry

    [00:11:16] all the time.

[00:11:17] So I didn't get the Shaxx stuff at all.

[00:11:21] So yeah, it just seemed kind of thrown in there and it made no sense.

[00:11:29] Uh, Billups, I found interesting because it seems like crap happens in engineering all

    [00:11:36] the time.

[00:11:37] And he's just like, everyone dies, but engineers live.

[00:11:42] Like, this is just how it goes because he was showing that ensign like, oh, I had put

    [00:11:47] it down here.

[00:11:48] Um, engineering has issues with the plasma, the plasma containers.

    [00:11:53] Okay.

[00:11:54] And he says he sometimes has to do like refitted and just kind of do it himself.

[00:12:00] And, um, and she's kind of freaking out, but he's like, no, no, we got this.

[00:12:04] And then domino effect, right?

[00:12:06] Things were just happening all the time.

[00:12:09] Chuck says upper decks makes sports trading cards such as baseball.

    [00:12:15] Oh, that's what you're talking about.

    [00:12:17] Yes.

    [00:12:18] Upper deck.

[00:12:19] I'm having a flashback of my childhood.

[00:12:21] What I used to get the trait, the baseball cards for one, trying to find all the Dodger

    [00:12:25] cards.

[00:12:26] Cause I was a huge Dodger fight and to the bubble gum, but I completely forgot because

[00:12:30] they don't sell those really anymore.

[00:12:32] I think you can find a couple in the grocery store, but it's not like it used to be.

[00:12:36] You'll find magic D and D in like Pokemon cards, but not baseball.

[00:12:42] David says, I think a lot of the disconnected nature of the episode is because each of those

[00:12:46] segments was a sort of a love letter to the bridge crew episode trope.

    [00:12:50] Okay.

    [00:12:51] That makes sense.

[00:12:52] I think it was also, we'll see, here's the thing.

[00:12:55] Like I said with Shax, it seemed disconnected because we didn't know why he was having these

    [00:12:59] hallucinations with Tiana.

    [00:13:02] Okay.

[00:13:03] They started off with, Hey, we're getting complaints that you're not doing pain management

    [00:13:07] well.

[00:13:07] And so she decided to take matters in her own hands.

[00:13:10] Then Freeman, same thing, just kind of dealing, you know, we're just seeing her as the captain

[00:13:15] and what she goes through day to day.

[00:13:18] Ransom kind of in the, in the, in the middle between like a Tiana and Shax where we are seeing

[00:13:24] him work with the ensigns, but we don't really get to understand why the scientist was there

[00:13:31] and what these creatures are and stuff like that.

[00:13:33] We kind of figured that out later, obviously of why the professor was there or the scientist,

[00:13:38] but that's where it was a little off to me.

[00:13:42] And maybe it was also because there was so many, I think, cause honestly we were dealing with Shax,

    [00:13:49] Phillips, Freeman, Ransom, Tiana.

[00:13:52] We were dealing with five different stories all at once.

    [00:13:57] That's a lot in like 20 minutes.

[00:14:00] So I think that's what kind of threw me off a little bit because I really want to have an A, B and C.

    [00:14:08] And this was A, B, C, D and E.

    [00:14:10] Right.

[00:14:11] And that's just a lot to kind of cram in last minute.

[00:14:15] Again, not really sure when they were told that Lower Decks was canceled.

[00:14:19] So I don't know if they just kind of threw this together in hopes that people will be like,

[00:14:23] Hey, it's, this is their story.

    [00:14:25] It didn't feel finished.

[00:14:27] Just like David said, it was just kind of unfinished.

[00:14:29] It was just kind of like, we kind of needed a little bit more.

[00:14:33] I think maybe if they had put this in two separate episodes, like a part one and two,

[00:14:37] which I know they couldn't do obviously, but it might've worked a little bit better.

    [00:14:44] Let me see here.

[00:14:45] So I said, Westlake is an O'Gawa.

    [00:14:49] Freedman's to-do list.

[00:14:52] I guess we can kind of just go straight to the, the clickets.

[00:14:57] And this was a brief mention in the beginning in their morning briefing,

[00:15:01] where they were saying that there was not a lot of clicket activity.

[00:15:05] This was the security portion.

[00:15:09] And, um, Freeman was kind of like, not sure, like, okay, whatever.

[00:15:17] So when all of a sudden that professor scientist guy melts disgustingly into a clicket and all

    [00:15:26] of a sudden they're invaded.

    [00:15:27] Okay.

    [00:15:28] Um, pretty ballsy.

[00:15:33] If you ask me, I think that was just, you know, because they were going through their day to day,

[00:15:38] they were going through their stuff.

[00:15:39] They didn't even realize that they were invaded.

[00:15:41] I mean, obviously they let this professor come on through the transporter pad.

[00:15:47] Nothing clicked, nothing, nothing set off alarms.

[00:15:49] I don't know how the clicket even made it on there.

[00:15:56] So that was, of course, um, I see JB tales and tails has joined over on Instagram.

    [00:16:02] Hello.

[00:16:04] So I think that was the issue, right?

[00:16:06] So all of a sudden here's the things, boom, boom, boom.

    [00:16:09] And then big invasion.

    [00:16:10] All right.

[00:16:11] And then they all were attacking everybody at once.

[00:16:14] Seb Ransom, he was asleep.

    [00:16:17] Was he asleep?

    [00:16:18] That's another question.

[00:16:20] He was pretending to be asleep, but wasn't made intention.

[00:16:23] Can you imagine that they were being invaded?

    [00:16:25] I don't know, guys.

[00:16:26] I just had some issues with this episode.

[00:16:31] I have more questions than answers.

[00:16:34] And so this click it, of course, is coming to, cause they wanted those bagoons to basically

[00:16:44] harvest their, um, cloaking power and possibly eat them if they were a good texture and taste.

    [00:16:55] Okay.

[00:16:56] I don't have really an emotional attachment to the bagoons.

[00:16:59] I really don't have an emotional attachment to these clickets.

    [00:17:02] I don't know.

[00:17:02] We don't see them really as a huge threat.

[00:17:07] But this is really just like the upper deckers actually do a lot more than the lower deckers realize.

[00:17:13] And I think that was what they were trying to come across.

    [00:17:17] It just felt empty.

[00:17:20] David says, I'll have to take off for now.

    [00:17:22] Have a great evening.

    [00:17:23] You too, David.

[00:17:24] Thank you for stopping by.

    [00:17:25] I really appreciate it.

[00:17:26] Um, so yeah, as the clickets are invading and they are attacking everyone.

    [00:17:36] I think that's funny.

[00:17:37] I don't think the clickets actually entered engineering.

[00:17:39] They were dealing with their own problems that the clickets weren't there.

[00:17:42] I don't remember even seeing clickets in engineering.

[00:17:44] I do remember them coming to Shaxx because Shaxx was, um, Zen and he was having his visions.

[00:17:53] And then of course they attacked the Delta and Beta shifts.

[00:17:57] And then of course attacked Tiana.

[00:17:59] Um, the thing about Tiana is that the clicket shot her and the phaser was set to kill and it didn't phaser at all.

[00:18:10] And he was like, what the heck?

[00:18:12] It was because she had just gone through so much torture from Westlake to try and build up her tolerance that even the phaser couldn't kill Tiana.

[00:18:20] And she pretty much attacked him almost to death and then, um, almost got killed.

[00:18:27] But then it was that meta actor poetry guy, uh, walked up and saved the day and he went and seen.

[00:18:34] So, um, so yeah, again, little mixed things.

[00:18:41] Now, of course the two shifts are helping to stop these clickets.

[00:18:45] Uh, Shaxx went and fought off all of his thinking that they were Cardassians.

[00:18:52] And then he was like, Oh, whoops, because he basically killed them all.

[00:18:56] Um, so that was very, very interesting.

[00:18:59] And then after they decide to, you know, stop them.

[00:19:05] Freeman then realizes, Oh, these are the ones that don't like compliments.

[00:19:08] If they like compliments, it's that's how you, that's how you defeat them.

[00:19:12] So she just starts going off.

[00:19:14] She's all like, you guys are doing a great job.

[00:19:16] And, you know, compliments to you of being an amazing captain.

[00:19:20] And it was so degrading that they were like flee.

[00:19:25] So, so yeah, it's again, it was just very quick.

[00:19:30] This happened, this happened, this happened.

[00:19:33] And, um, then we find out why she wanted those couple hours.

[00:19:37] And it was because it's her, it's her anniversary.

[00:19:40] I remember, um, a couple episodes ago I had mentioned, oh, I think it was when I had my coworker with me, Alexa.

[00:19:48] She was asking me questions and I was all like, yeah, she's married to an admiral.

    [00:19:52] I didn't, couldn't remember his name.

[00:19:55] And I actually didn't think his last name was Freeman.

[00:19:57] I thought that was Carol's name, but no Admiral Freeman and he's on earth.

[00:20:03] Okay. And his name is Zoe, which probably was mentioned.

    [00:20:09] I just didn't remember it.

[00:20:11] And, um, and it was our anniversary.

[00:20:15] She was hoping just to have a couple of hours of just like going on the holodeck and just kind of seeing him and talking with him and stuff because they don't get to see each other very often.

[00:20:23] But what was very sweet is that her secretary Stevens knew that it was her anniversary and she got to bring the admiral to the Cerritos so they could spend time together on the holodeck.

[00:20:37] Dave says, great to see the admiral again.

[00:20:39] Yeah. I mean, it was quick.

[00:20:41] Mariner didn't even get to see her dad.

[00:20:43] She didn't even really believe that her dad was there at the very end.

[00:20:47] But, um, so I thought that was sweet because, you know, you can tell she misses her husband and, and, you know, it's hard to be in these high ranking, um, as, as high ranking officers and not be able to see each other.

[00:21:04] So, so that was a nice little, I thought that was cute.

[00:21:07] I thought that was really sweet because I think Stevens, you know, he kept blowing off Freeman's like, I need these two hours off.

[00:21:15] He's like, no, no, no, we got to stick to the schedule.

[00:21:16] And it's because he had the surprise for her.

[00:21:19] And then of course, um, instead of seeing the lower deckers at the cafeteria, we see the upper deckers, right?

[00:21:30] And the one that we didn't get to see at all was the counselor whose name is escaping me at the moment.

[00:21:39] And he was only in the briefing and then at the very end.

[00:21:43] And of course they had asked Shax like, Hey, you had left very quickly.

    [00:21:47] Are you okay?

[00:21:49] And, um, he was going like, yeah, I was just having my visions and stuff like that.

[00:21:55] Still having to try to deal with my anger.

    [00:21:57] Big limo.

    [00:21:58] Yes.

    [00:21:58] Thank you.

[00:21:59] And he was all like, well, you know, therapy can help with that.

[00:22:02] And Shax was like, when do we begin?

    [00:22:05] So that was funny.

[00:22:06] And then Westlake was sitting next to Tiana and she got burned a little bit.

    [00:22:12] And she's like, Oh, that's hot.

[00:22:13] And she's like, okay, fine.

    [00:22:14] I'll, I'll up the pain management.

[00:22:15] And he was like, good kitty.

[00:22:17] And he started like petting her and she started burning.

[00:22:21] I'm kind of, I don't know if I want to know what kind of relationship Tiana has with her, her nurse.

[00:22:27] But I mean, they, they seem to get along very well.

[00:22:31] He knew where to pet her.

    [00:22:33] That's my question.

[00:22:35] Um, and then of course the lower deckers come in and they were like, Oh, that was fun.

    [00:22:39] Uh, nothing happened.

    [00:22:40] Cool.

[00:22:41] Even though they were like, I thought I heard an invasion and nothing happens to the senior officers.

[00:22:47] And then, or the bridge crew.

[00:22:50] And then they were all like, well, I thought I saw your dad.

[00:22:52] No, there, my dad wasn't here.

[00:22:54] You know, it was just like, nothing happens.

[00:22:56] And that's kind of a trope that I think David was talking about.

    [00:22:59] I am.

[00:23:00] It was one of those things where you see the two sides, right?

[00:23:05] When there's one major side and let's, I'm going to give an example.

[00:23:09] Let's say, you know, saved by the bell.

    [00:23:12] Okay.

[00:23:12] I can't really recall if they did an episode, but you know, we're always seeing the kids.

[00:23:16] We're always seeing something happen.

[00:23:18] But then we have a thing where it's talking about the teachers, right?

[00:23:21] Or the principal or principal building.

[00:23:25] So it's one of those things where, you know, you kind of be all like, Oh no, they do go

    [00:23:29] through the stuff.

[00:23:30] We just don't know it because we're so focused on the, on the kids.

[00:23:33] And this was kind of the same, the same thing.

[00:23:36] And the senior officers apparently go through this all the time because they didn't seem

[00:23:39] really phased by any of this stuff happening, especially like billups and engineering.

[00:23:46] And so, yeah, I think again, it was just kind of thrown together of just like, let's see

[00:23:54] the senior officers, but it just didn't really mesh as well.

[00:24:02] Um, there was one part and I believe it was with the Delta and Beta shifts when they were

    [00:24:08] going against each other.

[00:24:09] One girl had said something.

[00:24:11] I'm like, who do you think you are?

[00:24:12] Picard that poetry reading or a meta acting situation, uh, mentioned Jordi and Ro phasing.

    [00:24:21] Okay.

    [00:24:22] So that was funny.

[00:24:23] I thought that was funny.

    [00:24:25] We have Janice here.

[00:24:27] I'm getting bullied on Tik Tok.

    [00:24:29] Any advice for me?

    [00:24:30] Well, that sucks.

[00:24:31] Uh, we don't like that Janice at all.

[00:24:35] So the only thing that I can say to you is to block them.

[00:24:39] The one thing that I learned, this is what I learned social media real quick is that ignore,

[00:24:46] ignore the haters, lock them, move on.

[00:24:48] Um, cause there's nothing you could do about it.

[00:24:50] They're just being trolls and we don't have the energy for that kind of, uh, kind of negativity.

    [00:24:56] Okay.

[00:24:56] So I'm sorry that's happening to you.

[00:24:58] Uh, but hopefully you can, uh, just block them and just enjoy what you have on Tik Tok.

    [00:25:05] Okay.

[00:25:06] I check Instagram real fast and Janice is over there as well.

[00:25:11] So, so yeah, but as for the episode, that's about it.

[00:25:16] I, I don't really know, um, what else to, to talk about.

[00:25:24] It was just like, okay, we didn't really get a mention again about the dimensional risks.

[00:25:30] Um, you know, Freeman really didn't mention about how she was obsessing over her alternate self, you know, being in Starbase 80.

[00:25:37] I kind of wish they had mentioned that a little bit, but yeah, that was it.

[00:25:42] That was not much to say about it.

[00:25:47] I think it was just something that was needing to be thrown together.

[00:25:51] And I, and, and maybe they wanted to spread it out, but they couldn't because they found out they were canceled.

[00:25:57] So I think maybe that's, maybe that's what happened.

[00:26:00] Um, if you guys have any other comments.

    [00:26:05] So, uh, Dave, yes.

[00:26:07] Sorry to hear that to Janice.

[00:26:09] I'm being bullied to hang in there.

[00:26:11] What is with the bullying people?

    [00:26:12] Oh my gosh.

[00:26:13] And it's just social media, man.

[00:26:16] You either love it or you hate it.

[00:26:17] It is one of those things where it is just really, really hard to handle.

    [00:26:22] And perfect timing, Tim.

    [00:26:24] Thank you for joining.

    [00:26:25] Howdy, howdy, howdy.

    [00:26:27] Aggressive positivity, guys.

[00:26:29] That's what you need to do.

[00:26:31] Stay away from the haters.

[00:26:32] Stay away from those who, cause you know what?

    [00:26:34] They're just jealous.

    [00:26:35] That's what I say.

    [00:26:36] They're just jealous.

[00:26:37] They have no time on their hands.

[00:26:39] We don't need that, uh, negativity in our lives and we move on.

    [00:26:45] So yeah.

    [00:26:46] Yes, Tim.

    [00:26:47] Bullies suck.

    [00:26:48] They really do.

    [00:26:49] Yeah.

    [00:26:50] Again, episodes over.

    [00:26:52] That's it.

[00:26:54] And oh, Dave, that's horrible.

[00:26:56] I'm being bullied in my own Star Trek group.

    [00:26:59] That makes me mad.

    [00:27:01] Okay.

[00:27:03] That makes me really mad.

[00:27:05] The mom and me is starting to get into defensive mode and I'm trying to hold back.

[00:27:09] Um, Tim says, remember if people are bullying you, it means that they wish they had something you had.

    [00:27:14] Boom.

    [00:27:15] Exactly, Tim.

    [00:27:16] Exactly.

    [00:27:18] So yeah, it's,

[00:27:21] it's amazing how, like I said, bullying is no matter where you're at.

[00:27:24] I mean, I've been bullied all my life and it just gets worse while it's on social media.

[00:27:28] And I'm, and I've been bullied a year too.

[00:27:31] It, it, it is, it is what it is.

[00:27:33] Um, yeah, Dave, it happens.

[00:27:35] It's just, uh, oh, sorry.

[00:27:39] Sorry, we brought the room down guys.

[00:27:42] But I think one of the thing is, is that if you do feel like you got bullied from your group, know that others that stand beside you, those are your true friends.

    [00:27:54] Okay.

[00:27:56] And I learned that, um, people that I thought were my friends.

[00:28:00] And I know that I'm not the best person.

    [00:28:04] Like I've, I have a history.

    [00:28:06] I haven't been the greatest person.

[00:28:08] And I've had to learn a lot and really deep down and figure myself out and try and be a better person.

[00:28:13] And those that stuck by me, those are my true friends.

[00:28:17] And you know, Tim is one of them.

    [00:28:19] Thank you, Tim.

[00:28:20] So, um, so yeah, I think when you go through something and you are not being judged by other people and they're just going to love you for who you are and you, and they stand by you no matter the mistakes that you've made and you understand those mistakes.

[00:28:36] That's who you stick with.

    [00:28:37] That's your circle.

    [00:28:38] That's your circle, Dave.

    [00:28:39] Find a better circle.

[00:28:41] Um, unfortunately, even Star Trek, we can't even get away from the negativity.

    [00:28:46] Um, Dave says hugs.

[00:28:49] Jesse's so glad you're here for us on Friday.

    [00:28:51] Oh, well, thank you.

[00:28:52] I was almost thinking of changing the day, but I think I'm going to stick to Fridays.

[00:28:56] Tim says, sorry, I missed the majority of the live show.

[00:28:59] Do I get partial credit for showing up at closing?

[00:29:01] Yes, but I'm not technically done, Tim.

[00:29:04] I may be done with the episode because there was honestly not a lot to talk about.

[00:29:08] So unfortunately I had to kind of rush through.

[00:29:11] Um, no, Janice, we will not be crying because of the bullies.

[00:29:14] They are not worth your tears.

    [00:29:16] Okay.

[00:29:16] So you are going to be here and enjoy, and we are going to talk about the crushers.

[00:29:21] And this is a perfect little segue because I got to do something very exciting today.

[00:29:28] I didn't announce this because we were trying to figure out a time and I wasn't sure what kind of interview I was going to do.

[00:29:36] But I did get to interview Gates McFadden and that happened today.

[00:29:43] Um, got about 20 minutes of solid time with her.

    [00:29:47] I feel so honored.

    [00:29:50] I'm so excited.

[00:29:51] I feel like my whole podcast came full circle today with, um, having an interview with her.

[00:29:57] I'm going to, uh, be editing it after the show and I'm going to be dropping it tomorrow.

[00:30:05] And also Gates did mention on Instagram that she is going to be live on Instagram tomorrow.

[00:30:12] So I think they said 8am Pacific standard time, but check out her Instagram just in case, or you can check out her, um, Gates plays, which is the, the people that promote, promote her work.

    [00:30:24] So yeah, super excited.

[00:30:27] I got to, I tried to get in some fan questions.

[00:30:31] I had a couple of friends that I was like, Hey, do you guys have any penny for your thoughts?

[00:30:34] And I only got one in because my time was running out and I was like, well, crap.

[00:30:39] So, um, so yeah, I was definitely excited and feel blessed.

    [00:30:44] And thank you guys.

    [00:30:46] Uh, Dave says, woohoo.

    [00:30:48] Tim says, yay.

    [00:30:49] Gates.

[00:30:50] Did she, did she crush her?

    [00:30:51] It's she crushed it.

    [00:30:52] Yes, she did.

[00:30:53] Um, she kind of turned the tables on me and started asking about me and I was like, oh crap.

[00:30:58] I hope I'm telling her the right information.

[00:31:00] Um, Dave says, crush her time.

[00:31:03] Janice, I will ask my dad to buy me.

    [00:31:05] Well, we can merge.

[00:31:07] That sounds like a good plan.

[00:31:10] And Chuck says, yay, Gates.

[00:31:12] So yes, I'm super excited.

[00:31:14] And yeah, Janice, I hope one day we'll wait and we'll make an appearance crossing fingers.

    [00:31:19] We'll see what happens.

    [00:31:20] Yeah, it was awesome.

[00:31:22] And I can't wait to show it to you guys.

[00:31:24] Got to do some editing, but, uh, I guess I will.

[00:31:28] Let me just double check my notes here.

[00:31:29] Make sure that I'm not jumping the gun and nope.

[00:31:32] We're going to go ahead into our tri-quarter rating.

    [00:31:37] My tri-quarter.

[00:31:40] Like I said, not many votes, which means not many people liked it.

[00:31:43] And it's all across the board.

    [00:31:45] So 13 votes total.

[00:31:47] 46% actually gave it five bagoons.

    [00:31:50] Okay.

[00:31:51] So there is a good chunk of people that actually really liked it.

[00:31:55] And probably because we got to see the bridge crew.

[00:31:58] We got to see the senior officers.

    [00:31:59] We've been complaining.

    [00:32:00] Where's Tiana?

[00:32:01] Where's, um, you know, Shaxx where we really don't get to see really ransom and Freeman

    [00:32:06] very often.

[00:32:07] So I think that's why people enjoyed it.

[00:32:10] 31% gave it four carved pumpkins.

[00:32:12] So they were like, it was good, but not great.

[00:32:15] Um, 15% gave it three alien invasion.

[00:32:18] So middle of the road, 8% gave it one to two compliments.

    [00:32:22] So not that great.

[00:32:25] I'm kind of in the middle.

[00:32:26] I think I'm going to give it a solid three.

    [00:32:28] Okay.

[00:32:29] Cause I, there were moments that I enjoyed and there were moments that I was just like,

    [00:32:34] what's going on?

[00:32:35] Um, actually when I was first watching it, I kind of glazed over and I hate to say that

[00:32:41] cause I love this show, but I was just not into it that I really had to kind of go back

[00:32:46] and be like, okay, cool.

[00:32:48] You know, um, we'll, we'll see, we'll see what happens.

[00:32:52] And, uh, so yeah, so there's a tricorder rating, not the great I'm Dave even said, you

[00:32:59] know, he gave it a seven and a half out of 10.

[00:33:01] So it's like, it was a decent episode.

[00:33:04] We had some great moments, but it just wasn't that great.

[00:33:08] And now I just, I guess I will head into my redhead alert.

[00:33:15] So this is a big one guys.

[00:33:17] And I really wanted to mention this D and D baby Gates is joining her other space

[00:33:22] son, her favorite Titan captain, sorry freaks and to Trek.

    [00:33:27] Oh geez.

[00:33:27] And two very special guests as they play D and D for the Pavlov foundation, which helps fund

[00:33:32] research for the pediatric cancers.

[00:33:34] It is live stream event that is happening tomorrow over on Twitch at 4 PM Pacific standard time.

[00:33:41] You do not want to miss this.

[00:33:43] It, this is Gates's first time playing Dungeons and Dragons.

[00:33:49] She is from what I heard.

[00:33:51] And this is from other interviews and stuff.

    [00:33:53] She's been like practicing.

[00:33:55] She has been figuring out her character.

[00:33:57] She's trying to figure out what the numbers mean.
