[00:00:00] [SPEAKER_09]: I think I'm saying that we struggle all our lives to answer it, but it's the struggle that is important.
[00:00:07] [SPEAKER_09]: That's what helps us to define our place in the universe.
[00:00:11] [SPEAKER_07]: This is our Beverly, Dr. Beverly, Dr. Dr. Beverly Crusher, Honest.
[00:00:17] [SPEAKER_09]: Forceful.
[00:00:20] Trusting.
[00:00:21] [SPEAKER_09]: Brilliant.
[00:00:22] [SPEAKER_07]: Strong.
[00:00:24] [SPEAKER_02]: An adventurous.
[00:00:26] [SPEAKER_02]: And this is Crusher Convo.
[00:00:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Hello, guys. Ed, welcome to Crusher Convo.
[00:00:32] [SPEAKER_02]: Where we are, Crusher in the conversation, one episode of Time.
[00:00:35] [SPEAKER_02]: And tonight, Jay and I are going to review season two of Star Trek Prodigy,
[00:00:40] [SPEAKER_02]: starting with Episodes 1-5.
[00:00:43] [SPEAKER_02]: So, hey, Jay, how are you doing tonight?
[00:00:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Good. How are you?
[00:00:45] [SPEAKER_02]: Pretty good.
[00:00:47] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm pretty excited about this.
[00:00:49] [SPEAKER_02]: So, let's see.
[00:00:51] [SPEAKER_04]: It's nice to talk about something a little lighter than two of X.
[00:00:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, no. I was all like this is going to be perfect for Jay.
[00:00:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Of course, before we get started, I do want to mention real fast the sad passing of Patty.
[00:01:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, who took a who played nurse O'Gawa on the next generation?
[00:01:13] [SPEAKER_02]: I was pretty bummed about this.
[00:01:15] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know about you, Jay, but it was, yeah, we've always talked about before about how
[00:01:21] [SPEAKER_02]: the dynamic duo between Beverly and Alyssa was so great.
[00:01:25] [SPEAKER_02]: They, even though Beverly was her boss, they were really good friends.
[00:01:31] [SPEAKER_02]: They trust each other as much as Suscissions has its issues.
[00:01:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Those two were pretty good.
[00:01:39] [SPEAKER_02]: It's worth it just for that.
[00:01:41] [SPEAKER_02]: So I just wanted to mention how sad I am about her passing.
[00:01:47] [SPEAKER_02]: What's your favorite moment of Alyssa?
[00:01:49] [SPEAKER_04]: You know what?
[00:01:50] [SPEAKER_04]: I just honestly, I think almost every time that she was on camera, like she has this smile.
[00:01:59] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:02:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Big smile.
[00:02:01] [SPEAKER_04]: And just I think every time that she flashed that big smile that she has was just great.
[00:02:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:02:07] [SPEAKER_04]: A lot of that positivity.
[00:02:09] [SPEAKER_02]: And it really helped put Beverly at ease.
[00:02:12] [SPEAKER_02]: Right?
[00:02:13] [SPEAKER_02]: My favorite part though was like in suspicions where Beverly is legally trying to get through
[00:02:19] [SPEAKER_02]: the idea was that the autopsy files and Alyssa catches her.
[00:02:23] [SPEAKER_02]: And she's like, I'm sure you want the autopsy of Joe Braille and you know, the,
[00:02:28] [SPEAKER_02]: was it Dr. Ranga?
[00:02:31] [SPEAKER_02]: I think it was the forangi.
[00:02:33] [SPEAKER_02]: And he was all like, I can't keep you in involved.
[00:02:36] [SPEAKER_02]: She's like, is that an order doctor?
[00:02:38] [SPEAKER_02]: She's all like, yeah, she's like, good thing you're not my boss anymore.
[00:02:40] [SPEAKER_02]: And I loved it.
[00:02:41] [SPEAKER_02]: I was like, and then she had that smile at the end where Beverly was like,
[00:02:46] [SPEAKER_02]: thank you.
[00:02:48] [SPEAKER_02]: That's good moments. And of course they had good moments in generations and first contact.
[00:02:55] [SPEAKER_02]: So it was nice to see her involved in those even though there were, you know,
[00:03:00] [SPEAKER_02]: she was just a background character but she was very pivotal.
[00:03:02] [SPEAKER_02]: I think to the stories and of course one of the best episodes was lower decks.
[00:03:07] [SPEAKER_02]: She was definitely pivotal in that story.
[00:03:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. And I mean, look, a lot of the, a lot of the great characters in Star Trek are just background characters anyway.
[00:03:16] [SPEAKER_04]: So, you know, she was certainly there and the dynamic of her and, and Bev was always really good.
[00:03:24] [SPEAKER_04]: And, you know, we've talked that length before but the under use of of the women in the TNG era.
[00:03:32] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:03:32] [SPEAKER_04]: And I think that's a dynamic that could have been if they had experimented it with more would have been really cool.
[00:03:39] [SPEAKER_02]: It would have been good to see.
[00:03:41] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. But anyways, let's go ahead and start off with this review, reactant review. I guess we want to call it with the first episode, which is into the breach part one.
[00:04:03] Yep.
[00:04:04] [SPEAKER_07]: An emergency metabolic graphic program and dear friend of the admiral, member of the boy at your crew, hero of the Delta Poppern.
[00:04:13] [SPEAKER_07]: No.
[00:04:15] [SPEAKER_07]: Well, Catherine asked me to be your personal guest.
[00:04:19] [SPEAKER_07]: Oh, great.
[00:04:21] [SPEAKER_07]: There you go.
[00:04:23] [SPEAKER_07]: I said escort.
[00:04:25] [SPEAKER_07]: I'm a doctor, not a butthler.
[00:04:27] [SPEAKER_02]: So, of course, I had to throw that in there, right? It was nice seeing the doctor.
[00:04:31] [SPEAKER_02]: I think that was a good introduction.
[00:04:34] [SPEAKER_02]: I did like how he was very like Catherine.
[00:04:37] [SPEAKER_02]: Like we're very close and trying to push that in there and the kids are like, we still don't know who you are.
[00:04:42] [SPEAKER_02]: Dude, I don't know.
[00:04:45] [SPEAKER_02]: It was nice seeing the kids though as the cadets and our course dial, you know, running away and wanting to do his own thing seemed like he was having a hard time following rules.
[00:04:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it was, you know, season one.
[00:05:00] [SPEAKER_04]: It was all of them so badly wanted to be in Starfleet, right? And then the Dow doesn't feel like he fits properly in the Starfleet mold.
[00:05:10] [SPEAKER_04]: So he's kind of, right?
[00:05:12] [SPEAKER_04]: That little montage where they're showing all of them get that message from Janeway at the beginning and his montage is that he's not even in class.
[00:05:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.
[00:05:22] [SPEAKER_04]: You see it while they're taking attendance and he's off just watching the ships fly around, right?
[00:05:29] [SPEAKER_02]: He's he's dreaming of the stars, right?
[00:05:31] [SPEAKER_02]: He wants to go back and it's kind of like they almost kind of demoted themselves, right?
[00:05:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Because season one, they were on this grand adventure trying to save the Federation.
[00:05:43] [SPEAKER_02]: They were just nobody kids who had no idea what the heck was going on and now that they got to where they're now a part of something.
[00:05:51] [SPEAKER_02]: They have to take a step back and not be in charge like they used to.
[00:05:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Like Dow is just able to like, we're gonna do this, this, this, we're gonna do it.
[00:05:59] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't get no one's gonna stop me and now he has to follow the rules.
[00:06:03] [SPEAKER_02]: Like he feels like he's equal and he's not.
[00:06:07] [SPEAKER_02]: I think also to, I wasn't sure, I wrote about the intro of the doctor and I went,
[00:06:14] [SPEAKER_02]: his role was just very important to bring in the doctor to help out the kids because we know that Janeway is like busy.
[00:06:23] [SPEAKER_02]: She's not the hologram.
[00:06:24] [SPEAKER_02]: She's an admiral.
[00:06:26] [SPEAKER_02]: If they can't just go walk up to her and talk to her and I feel like that was a hard transition.
[00:06:32] [SPEAKER_02]: The only one I think that was doing really well was rock.
[00:06:37] [SPEAKER_02]: This was, she dreamed of this.
[00:06:38] [SPEAKER_02]: This was so excited and then of course she was trying to fit in by being different.
[00:06:46] [SPEAKER_02]: Zeroes having their, you know, not sure where they fit in, right?
[00:06:52] [SPEAKER_02]: And noticing how they wish they could have kind of like a companionship, right?
[00:06:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Feelings and stuff like that and then fur fissures Merff.
[00:07:03] [SPEAKER_02]: Or fissures Merff.
[00:07:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Beat in the crap out of stuff on the hallway.
[00:07:08] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, this is talking too soon right now, but like of course later on the season it was what is it.
[00:07:14] [SPEAKER_02]: Chocotacea.
[00:07:14] [SPEAKER_02]: Now I know why they call you superior.
[00:07:17] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:07:18] [SPEAKER_02]: And then of course I do have to mention I liked when Dahl said, timey, why me?
[00:07:23] [SPEAKER_02]: Because that got my doctor who hurt.
[00:07:26] [SPEAKER_04]: I think that and the other great line was Janecomb when he said to the doctor he's like, okay doctor,
[00:07:32] [SPEAKER_04]: but he said it like we would say okay boomer.
[00:07:35] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:07:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Or no straight up.
[00:07:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay hologram.
[00:07:37] [SPEAKER_04]: That's what it was.
[00:07:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay hologram.
[00:07:42] [SPEAKER_02]: It's a little bit.
[00:07:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it was those little touches though that you know I think the brothers and Aaron and everybody that was involved.
[00:07:51] [SPEAKER_02]: Really did did well.
[00:07:53] [SPEAKER_02]: You know now I want to throw this into your.
[00:07:57] [SPEAKER_02]: And to your side because I know you're just going to geek over this.
[00:08:00] [SPEAKER_02]: But let's talk about the Voyager A.
[00:08:03] [SPEAKER_04]: Go for it.
[00:08:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes, let's let's let's love that tip.
[00:08:07] [SPEAKER_04]: I love it.
[00:08:07] [SPEAKER_04]: It's like the perfect blend of like the intrepid and the the sovereign class they had a baby.
[00:08:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it's the last.
[00:08:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it's the one mark last so I really really like the ship.
[00:08:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Now, correct me if I'm long but do we not see the Voyager A in at the end of the last season?
[00:08:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Because I thought we saw it or maybe it was just on the shuttle that we saw the registry on the shuttle or something.
[00:08:31] [SPEAKER_04]: But I I don't know.
[00:08:33] [SPEAKER_04]: I thought we've known for a while that the Voyager A was coming.
[00:08:36] [SPEAKER_04]: So I didn't feel like it was a big reveal.
[00:08:40] [SPEAKER_04]: Like we knew what was all coming to because we saw there were some screenshots of it.
[00:08:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yeah.
[00:08:46] [SPEAKER_04]: That was that were purposely put out right.
[00:08:51] [SPEAKER_04]: But I feel like Voyager A and if they had kept the doctors a parents in this season the secret that would have been cool too.
[00:09:00] [SPEAKER_04]: I think that would have been.
[00:09:01] [SPEAKER_04]: No, just we didn't know he was coming at all.
[00:09:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, when he come out of the shuttle like we just watched right?
[00:09:08] [SPEAKER_04]: I see.
[00:09:08] [SPEAKER_04]: I really cool.
[00:09:10] [SPEAKER_02]: That's true.
[00:09:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, because it was a big surprise because last year when we were in Vegas we weren't supposed to talk about the shows at all because it was during the strike.
[00:09:19] [SPEAKER_02]: And somehow because it was a animated series and voice so far as it was a little different.
[00:09:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Like the rules are just low.
[00:09:29] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:09:30] [SPEAKER_02]: That's why it looked like we're really referencing it you know what I mean?
[00:09:34] [SPEAKER_02]: So when I think that's where everyone saw the clip of the thing.
[00:09:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I think it's been a year.
[00:09:41] [SPEAKER_02]: It's been a.
[00:09:44] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm wise man.
[00:09:45] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:09:46] [SPEAKER_02]: We're going to be in Vegas.
[00:09:48] [SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
[00:09:50] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm sure.
[00:09:51] [SPEAKER_02]: I know I really want to mention the real fast as the kids are on the Voyager A and they're seeing anybody.
[00:09:58] [SPEAKER_02]: The Nova Squadron and the Bridge officers, which was of course the counselor and her number one, Jane weighs number one.
[00:10:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Just rude.
[00:10:10] [SPEAKER_03]: You think we're?
[00:10:12] [SPEAKER_02]: We'll ease like just I was pissed.
[00:10:15] [SPEAKER_02]: I didn't like that.
[00:10:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:10:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:10:19] [SPEAKER_04]: It was like you knew what these kids had done for for Starfleet and the Federation is a whole and yet we treat them.
[00:10:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:10:27] [SPEAKER_04]: But there's there's you know we don't want to jump too far ahead in the season yet, but there's some redemption later on.
[00:10:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Especially number one right so yeah I can kind of understand do the fact that they were kids at Nova Squadron will probably be more jealous.
[00:10:42] [SPEAKER_02]: You know they got in on their own accord.
[00:10:46] [SPEAKER_02]: They're really good pilots all this stuff and then these kids are getting all this attention now granted they deserve the attention.
[00:10:53] [SPEAKER_02]: But there might be some little bit of rivalry I could see that.
[00:10:57] [SPEAKER_02]: But why the Bridge officers?
[00:11:00] [SPEAKER_02]: There are adults to kids.
[00:11:03] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I don't know.
[00:11:04] [SPEAKER_04]: I just think it's probably a similar attitude that the Nova Squadron could have had where it's they just kind of like who are these guys.
[00:11:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Who are these guys?
[00:11:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Who are these guys?
[00:11:15] [SPEAKER_04]: The bit of an entitled attitude.
[00:11:17] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
[00:11:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Exactly exactly.
[00:11:20] [SPEAKER_02]: And what is it the counselor has said he's like this is for the Bridge officers only in slams and it's like okay.
[00:11:30] [SPEAKER_02]: I do like a little bit of the mention of Admiral McCart because Jane we was all like I promise Admiral McCart I went destroy this one or get it lost in a delta quadrant.
[00:11:39] [SPEAKER_02]: And I did I kind of want to mention the citation ops where we where we see rock at they didn't introduce Julian just yet they were just kind of mentioning you know like she had mentioned dolphins and these like that later on but.
[00:11:59] [SPEAKER_02]: I wasn't expecting that so I thought that was a nice little Easter egg right.
[00:12:06] [SPEAKER_02]: To to bring that up from what was it the wasn't the Voyager home it was what was episode was the fourth one.
[00:12:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, the movie.
[00:12:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yep the one with the whales.
[00:12:18] [SPEAKER_02]: The one with the whales right out that's all I can't remember the actual name of the movie.
[00:12:22] [SPEAKER_04]: It's the way to home yes the boy it is the boy at home.
[00:12:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, it was correct well, pat myself on the back because that just came came up like that now you know what I did like about it was because on lower decks we've got citations also but it's the dolphins right so it's kind of a smaller room again smaller ship but and then this one is a bigger ship and we've got we've got whales.
[00:12:48] [SPEAKER_02]: We've got whales big giant whales a big giant whale which is perfect for rock right now I do want to mention a little bit about down and go in conversation.
[00:13:01] [SPEAKER_02]: I thought it was really you you know because he was struggling as she picked up on it she's like you're not having fun are you.
[00:13:09] [SPEAKER_02]: And of course she's nervous about what she has to go do it's a big job I thought it was a cute little scene.
[00:13:17] [SPEAKER_02]: So she for a job because he was being very vulnerable to her.
[00:13:22] [SPEAKER_04]: I like the line where because the screen freezes on him right anything so she's just staring at him.
[00:13:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, even makes that line like I'm being really vulnerable here and not getting much in return.
[00:13:34] [SPEAKER_04]: You know I'm like that's that's you know good for you for being able to call that out and you know where your heart and your sleeve like that and then be like.
[00:13:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, what's it a good thing.
[00:13:47] [SPEAKER_04]: We want to do a thing.
[00:13:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, we want the transmissions just frozen.
[00:13:50] [SPEAKER_02]: It's just frozen she's just like.
[00:13:53] [SPEAKER_02]: And he didn't even catch up he was so involved in like we say something that he didn't even notice that she wasn't blinking for the last five minutes.
[00:14:03] [SPEAKER_02]: I also did like the little moment between the doctor and zero and sick bay because the boolean baby had been born and zero was feeling like I wish I could you know.
[00:14:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Feel things and have emotions and of course the doctor understands that right that was his whole arc during Voyager and he said we all have an opportunity to grow beyond our programming.
[00:14:32] [SPEAKER_04]: I like that line a lot and that's just life.
[00:14:38] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean I've been through it.
[00:14:40] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm still going through it but it's true like it's it's one of those things where there's always an opportunity to grow.
[00:14:47] [SPEAKER_02]: No matter what and yeah I enjoyed that I joined that line a lot with zero and zero just seemed hopeful.
[00:14:57] [SPEAKER_02]: And in that moment.
[00:14:59] [SPEAKER_02]: And of course there wanted to go through the warm hole to save to co-tate and then it's like and then that's it let's go to part two.
[00:15:07] [SPEAKER_04]: The the time hole as doubt comes at the time.
[00:15:10] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:15:11] [SPEAKER_02]: It was a pretty one.
[00:15:13] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:15:14] [SPEAKER_02]: It was very pretty I liked the look of it and it was funny because you know we're starting to kind of I mean this is of course the very first episode and that's why they had a lot of part ones and part twos because they were connected in some way.
[00:15:27] [SPEAKER_02]: So this one was definitely where we're like what's going on in part two.
[00:15:32] [SPEAKER_02]: So do you have anything to add from this first episode.
[00:15:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Well I like that like rate out the gates.
[00:15:38] [SPEAKER_04]: This season is not season one right like it's that's itself very much a part.
[00:15:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Like it didn't feel like it was just you know trading ground that they'd been on before.
[00:15:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes, there's there's follow up to the events from season one but I think it did a great job of still making it fresh.
[00:16:03] [SPEAKER_04]: And and and not like again like they're just going down the same path again especially when you're dealing with you know.
[00:16:13] [SPEAKER_04]: What was the comment I saw in line that about prodigy where prodigy is made with kids in mind but it's not a kid's show.
[00:16:24] [SPEAKER_04]: And I thought that was that was a great way to to where it is so by keeping kind of keeping things for correct things progressing and and just not rehashing and and you know they're still trying to make it back to the Federation.
[00:16:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Again kept like I said kept it fresh and and you know keep those kids interested.
[00:16:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah and keep us interested right because we want to see something prolonging you know continue with the story.
[00:16:53] [SPEAKER_02]: So no I then they did a good job about that but then that's what puts us in part to.
[00:16:59] [SPEAKER_00]: Chico Tae wouldn't allow Star to be annihilated his plan was to come and do the shit, but his first officer fell in battle.
[00:17:08] [SPEAKER_00]: Time was short he couldn't fly it so he did the next best thing.
[00:17:13] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if anyone will ever find this but if they do.
[00:17:18] [SPEAKER_01]: I may not be coming back from this one.
[00:17:21] [SPEAKER_01]: Tell Katherine.
[00:17:23] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm sorry, so.
[00:17:26] [SPEAKER_01]: But I'm doing this for you.
[00:17:30] [SPEAKER_02]: So of course this is where we see why Janeway is trying to get to Chico Tae.
[00:17:36] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean the kids of course had a sneak around and tried to figure out what was in.
[00:17:40] [SPEAKER_02]: She said oh my god, we got a little bit of the way to go.
[00:17:41] [SPEAKER_02]: The doctor said he was a nice callback but at the course.
[00:17:51] [SPEAKER_04]: What's funny because that that whole scene where he's like yeah I mean two there's no shadow bay three like.
[00:17:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah I'll seen the first when I watched them like.
[00:18:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Is he trying to get them to go there like he's trying to hint like drop little hints to get them interested in it.
[00:18:09] [SPEAKER_04]: but no, he's the doctor's just that bad of that.
[00:18:13] [SPEAKER_02]: He's the doctor.
[00:18:15] [SPEAKER_02]: And I loved how Zara goes to down was like, you're right.
[00:18:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Something they do have a secret mission.
[00:18:21] [SPEAKER_02]: But that's where Dallas gets himself in trouble.
[00:18:23] [SPEAKER_02]: He is just two wants to be involved in everything
[00:18:29] [SPEAKER_02]: and doesn't take the time to just sit back
[00:18:31] [SPEAKER_02]: and enjoy the moments.
[00:18:32] [SPEAKER_02]: And I think that's why him and Rock were
[00:18:34] [SPEAKER_02]: budding heads this entire time
[00:18:36] [SPEAKER_02]: because she just wants to enjoy the moment.
[00:18:39] [SPEAKER_02]: She wants to do what she's always dreamed about.
[00:18:42] [SPEAKER_02]: That's why she didn't want to really get involved.
[00:18:46] [SPEAKER_02]: And it was really nice just to see them
[00:18:50] [SPEAKER_02]: trying to figure things out.
[00:18:51] [SPEAKER_02]: And of course, mercs messes up a little bit.
[00:18:54] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, Murphy's Merk, we can't put any blame to him.
[00:18:58] [SPEAKER_02]: But then, of course, the first officer and the counselor
[00:19:01] [SPEAKER_02]: in them and they're just not even noticing
[00:19:02] [SPEAKER_02]: that the kids in the room, even though Jacob was loud.
[00:19:05] [SPEAKER_02]: It was just kind of like one of those comedies
[00:19:08] [SPEAKER_02]: from the 80s, like the 70s and 80s,
[00:19:11] [SPEAKER_02]: like all the shenanigans.
[00:19:12] [SPEAKER_04]: And then they did the trope of something dropping
[00:19:15] [SPEAKER_04]: and almost.
[00:19:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
[00:19:17] [SPEAKER_02]: And I was hitting them.
[00:19:18] [SPEAKER_04]: I think it was done.
[00:19:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Like they knew what they were doing when they were making that scene
[00:19:22] [SPEAKER_04]: and I think it worked.
[00:19:25] [SPEAKER_02]: It did work because it was in the middle of something serious.
[00:19:28] [SPEAKER_02]: And it's always good to break those series moments up
[00:19:31] [SPEAKER_02]: with something funny.
[00:19:33] [SPEAKER_02]: And I even liked that Zero even mentioned to Jacob.
[00:19:35] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, are we trying to get caught?
[00:19:37] Like, are we?
[00:19:39] Yeah.
[00:19:39] [SPEAKER_02]: I love Zero.
[00:19:41] [SPEAKER_02]: See, it's like my favorite character.
[00:19:44] [SPEAKER_02]: I really enjoyed their story this season.
[00:19:48] [SPEAKER_04]: They do even have just saying stuff.
[00:19:50] [SPEAKER_04]: How it is.
[00:19:52] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:19:52] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:19:53] [SPEAKER_02]: They're like, excuse me.
[00:19:55] [SPEAKER_02]: Why are you even talking?
[00:19:56] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, what exactly?
[00:19:57] [SPEAKER_02]: Why it?
[00:19:58] [SPEAKER_02]: You're stated the obvious.
[00:20:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Just stopped.
[00:20:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Um, now I did like another card reference while Gwen was reading,
[00:20:07] [SPEAKER_02]: you know, the first contact stuff.
[00:20:09] [SPEAKER_02]: And it's like, I haven't seen that much read in since the card.
[00:20:12] [SPEAKER_02]: It was like, oh, that boy.
[00:20:17] [SPEAKER_02]: Can I get away?
[00:20:17] [SPEAKER_04]: So did they really travel all the way to her planet
[00:20:19] [SPEAKER_04]: in a just a shuttle?
[00:20:21] Like, yeah.
[00:20:23] [SPEAKER_02]: It's probably rough about maybe the shuttles are now more advanced.
[00:20:27] [SPEAKER_04]: The run of it.
[00:20:29] [SPEAKER_04]: The, uh, they left like six months prior to like it took them.
[00:20:32] [SPEAKER_04]: So is there a bathroom?
[00:20:35] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, according to Jacob and one of those episodes, yes.
[00:20:38] [SPEAKER_02]: And they had to get out of there.
[00:20:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh yeah, that's right.
[00:20:40] [SPEAKER_04]: That's right.
[00:20:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:20:42] [SPEAKER_04]: I forgot.
[00:20:43] [SPEAKER_04]: See?
[00:20:43] [SPEAKER_02]: It was like we got everything.
[00:20:45] [SPEAKER_02]: Played out of everything.
[00:20:47] [SPEAKER_02]: Of course, you know, as Gwen is trying to go to Solomon and explain
[00:20:51] [SPEAKER_02]: to her people who don't even know who she is yet.
[00:20:55] [SPEAKER_02]: And of course, a sensei up beats or to it.
[00:20:59] [SPEAKER_02]: A sensei up.
[00:21:00] [SPEAKER_02]: I think.
[00:21:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Maybe I should pass this off.
[00:21:04] [SPEAKER_02]: How, how would you just describe this character?
[00:21:08] [SPEAKER_04]: She doesn't know what she's doing.
[00:21:11] [SPEAKER_02]: No, she's really.
[00:21:12] [SPEAKER_04]: I feel like, I feel like you and I had this conversation.
[00:21:16] [SPEAKER_04]: While I was working my way through the season,
[00:21:18] [SPEAKER_04]: and I'm like, did she just make a comment?
[00:21:20] [SPEAKER_04]: She did at this, I don't want to spoil anything.
[00:21:22] [SPEAKER_04]: It's later in the in the season.
[00:21:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Well, sure we'll talk about it.
[00:21:25] [SPEAKER_04]: But I'm like, did she just say that?
[00:21:27] [SPEAKER_04]: And you're like, I think they're trying to make her seem like
[00:21:30] [SPEAKER_04]: she's in over her head.
[00:21:31] [SPEAKER_04]: And then like definitely.
[00:21:35] [SPEAKER_02]: You did reach out.
[00:21:36] [SPEAKER_02]: I was like, I think that was the point.
[00:21:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yeah.
[00:21:39] [SPEAKER_04]: And if I like, she's just like,
[00:21:43] [SPEAKER_04]: she's evil for evil's sake.
[00:21:46] [SPEAKER_04]: Right?
[00:21:46] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, I struggle with her motives a little bit.
[00:21:50] [SPEAKER_04]: But I think again, that was the point
[00:21:52] [SPEAKER_04]: is that the world right now has a lot of that.
[00:21:56] [SPEAKER_04]: And I think that's what's kind of, you know,
[00:21:58] [SPEAKER_04]: track is always best when it's shining a light on real world issues.
[00:22:02] [SPEAKER_04]: And just because it's an animated show, doesn't mean
[00:22:04] [SPEAKER_04]: I can't do that.
[00:22:05] [SPEAKER_04]: So I think it's definitely shining a light on
[00:22:10] [SPEAKER_04]: a lot of the ignorance going on.
[00:22:11] [SPEAKER_04]: And that's maybe a bit of a showcase there on the show.
[00:22:17] [SPEAKER_04]: But I could be reading too much into it.
[00:22:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, I mean, and I think that's the whole point with track
[00:22:21] [SPEAKER_02]: that you read into it of how you see it.
[00:22:24] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, like, the way I see Beverly Crusher
[00:22:27] [SPEAKER_02]: doesn't mean that everyone else is Beverly Crusher the same way.
[00:22:29] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, it's just how you read into it and how you enjoy it.
[00:22:32] [SPEAKER_02]: I think what threw me off a wall that about a sincere
[00:22:35] [SPEAKER_02]: is that in season one, she was very cruel, right?
[00:22:39] [SPEAKER_02]: And we didn't really like we kind of knew the motive.
[00:22:42] [SPEAKER_02]: And it was the same as, oh, what's Gwen's father's name,
[00:22:48] [SPEAKER_02]: a Lutheran, a Lutheran?
[00:22:52] [SPEAKER_02]: And with a designer.
[00:22:53] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, my God.
[00:22:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Just in here.
[00:22:55] [SPEAKER_02]: But he, you know, it was like, oh, the Civil War destroyer is.
[00:22:59] [SPEAKER_02]: We have to stop outside of Shonkomenin.
[00:23:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Great. Cool.
[00:23:03] [SPEAKER_02]: She was more cruel than he was, right?
[00:23:06] [SPEAKER_02]: That's why they had the whole Darth Vader moment at the end.
[00:23:09] [SPEAKER_02]: And so she's like, Palpatine and he was Darth Vader.
[00:23:12] [SPEAKER_02]: And the thing was is that now that they're going into her story
[00:23:17] [SPEAKER_02]: and where she's like, we have to stop these people,
[00:23:19] [SPEAKER_02]: she really doesn't give them much.
[00:23:22] [SPEAKER_02]: She's just telling them, well, this is how it is
[00:23:24] [SPEAKER_02]: and they're like, okay, you know?
[00:23:26] [SPEAKER_02]: And I don't know, it wasn't, it threw me off a little bit
[00:23:30] [SPEAKER_02]: where I'm thinking, is she doing this
[00:23:34] [SPEAKER_02]: because she wants the saver planning
[00:23:35] [SPEAKER_02]: or she just wanted to just,
[00:23:38] [SPEAKER_04]: well, I think part of the reason that I struggle
[00:23:41] [SPEAKER_04]: with her motivation is because I think her character
[00:23:43] [SPEAKER_04]: lost the motive, right?
[00:23:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Like they lost the plot, right?
[00:23:48] [SPEAKER_04]: And even though what they were doing, it like,
[00:23:50] [SPEAKER_04]: because even what, you know,
[00:23:53] [SPEAKER_04]: once she introduces her younger self even, right?
[00:23:55] [SPEAKER_04]: In this episode.
[00:23:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:23:57] [SPEAKER_04]: And even her younger self is like,
[00:24:00] [SPEAKER_04]: you're crazy.
[00:24:02] [SPEAKER_04]: You're like, I guess there's a whole mind
[00:24:04] [SPEAKER_04]: going to turn into that, like, yeah.
[00:24:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:24:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:24:08] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
[00:24:09] [SPEAKER_02]: That's her whole story.
[00:24:12] [SPEAKER_02]: She's just evil.
[00:24:14] [SPEAKER_02]: Like that's just it.
[00:24:16] [SPEAKER_02]: With no motive, really.
[00:24:17] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, that's just kind of how I saw her.
[00:24:21] [SPEAKER_02]: But I did like seeing Goons dad,
[00:24:25] [SPEAKER_02]: however you pronounce his name, the diviner.
[00:24:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Just as a simple astronomer wanting to see the stars,
[00:24:32] [SPEAKER_02]: I really liked this complete one,
[00:24:34] [SPEAKER_02]: 80 to the day to his character where you're like,
[00:24:36] [SPEAKER_02]: I like this guy.
[00:24:37] [SPEAKER_04]: You remember, I don't know why he reminded me of Jepetto.
[00:24:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, from Pinocchio, he wasn't building wooden puppets,
[00:24:45] [SPEAKER_04]: but I don't know.
[00:24:46] [SPEAKER_04]: He just had like a Jepetto, like you just wanted to see.
[00:24:50] [SPEAKER_04]: He want him to be your grandfather.
[00:24:52] [SPEAKER_02]: That's the thing.
[00:24:52] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he just was nice and sweet.
[00:24:55] [SPEAKER_02]: And that's I think what threw off Goon
[00:24:56] [SPEAKER_02]: because she's like, do I trust you?
[00:25:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Even his little sidekick that I always call it general grievous.
[00:25:03] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, I'm going to drop it out of Star Wars puns.
[00:25:04] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm sorry.
[00:25:05] [SPEAKER_02]: But that's okay.
[00:25:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Remind me of you.
[00:25:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Dreadknock.
[00:25:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
[00:25:09] [SPEAKER_02]: He was all nice and she's like, oh, sorry.
[00:25:12] [SPEAKER_02]: But you know, she's like reminded me of someone else.
[00:25:17] [SPEAKER_02]: Like she didn't know how to handle it, you know?
[00:25:20] [SPEAKER_04]: And when Dreadknock first came in, I was like,
[00:25:24] [SPEAKER_02]: yeah, I knew he was good.
[00:25:26] [SPEAKER_02]: That he's all white.
[00:25:27] [SPEAKER_04]: Of course.
[00:25:29] [SPEAKER_04]: No red.
[00:25:29] [SPEAKER_02]: It's red not was yeah.
[00:25:31] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah.
[00:25:31] [SPEAKER_04]: If they're not red, they're good.
[00:25:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:25:36] [SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, it was, it was,
[00:25:39] [SPEAKER_02]: I liked that part of it.
[00:25:45] [SPEAKER_02]: And yeah, and then of course, you know,
[00:25:46] [SPEAKER_02]: going back to the ship with the kids in Dallas and everything,
[00:25:49] [SPEAKER_02]: he just has a big mouth and caught me,
[00:25:51] [SPEAKER_02]: Jell's attention as they're doing our little mission.
[00:25:57] [SPEAKER_02]: And of course.
[00:25:59] [SPEAKER_02]: And then that was another thing where I was like,
[00:26:01] [SPEAKER_02]: I really hate these novice quadrant kids because like,
[00:26:03] [SPEAKER_02]: just back off.
[00:26:04] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, because all of a sudden she's like,
[00:26:05] [SPEAKER_02]: I got to stop them.
[00:26:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Why?
[00:26:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Why?
[00:26:10] [SPEAKER_02]: Because you're jealous.
[00:26:11] [SPEAKER_02]: You're just pissed off.
[00:26:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Well, she's like, you're at the one point she's trying to remember
[00:26:17] [SPEAKER_04]: if that was that episode of The One After Where She catches them
[00:26:21] [SPEAKER_04]: getting on infinity.
[00:26:22] [SPEAKER_04]: This one.
[00:26:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
[00:26:24] [SPEAKER_04]: And she's like, oh, you're hijacking a ship
[00:26:29] [SPEAKER_04]: that has cloaking whatever and it's like,
[00:26:32] [SPEAKER_04]: which is illegal.
[00:26:33] [SPEAKER_04]: All of this is illegal.
[00:26:34] [SPEAKER_04]: And it's like, what do you get?
[00:26:35] [SPEAKER_04]: You're on Janeway ship.
[00:26:36] [SPEAKER_04]: You're a guest.
[00:26:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, that's what I said for the toy.
[00:26:41] [SPEAKER_02]: They didn't bring it in.
[00:26:43] [SPEAKER_02]: It was a deal.
[00:26:45] [SPEAKER_04]: You wouldn't get it.
[00:26:46] [SPEAKER_04]: It's a, you didn't pull it out of his pocket.
[00:26:48] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know where.
[00:26:49] [SPEAKER_02]: No, no.
[00:26:50] [SPEAKER_02]: That's where I'm like,
[00:26:53] [SPEAKER_02]: she's, she's a Vulcan and she's being a little
[00:26:56] [SPEAKER_02]: two logical in this sense.
[00:26:57] [SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, I was.
[00:27:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Also why did that ship look like a drop ship
[00:27:03] [SPEAKER_04]: from Starship Tubers?
[00:27:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Like it didn't look anything starfleet remotely.
[00:27:08] [SPEAKER_02]: I think that's why.
[00:27:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Maybe.
[00:27:10] [SPEAKER_02]: I hate, that's why.
[00:27:12] [SPEAKER_02]: They did what?
[00:27:13] That's the little thing.
[00:27:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Plasible deniability.
[00:27:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
[00:27:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Not asked.
[00:27:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Look at all of her.
[00:27:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Look at the same.
[00:27:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
[00:27:20] [SPEAKER_02]: The Federation's gonna be like, what's going up?
[00:27:21] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know what that is.
[00:27:23] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
[00:27:23] [SPEAKER_02]: New species.
[00:27:24] [SPEAKER_02]: We haven't, we haven't met yet.
[00:27:28] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, seriously, I think they literally
[00:27:30] [SPEAKER_02]: don't have everything.
[00:27:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Any questions these fans got like
[00:27:37] [SPEAKER_02]: perfect example.
[00:27:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Why does Jack Crusher have an accent?
[00:27:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Episode three, well we were London.
[00:27:46] [SPEAKER_04]: Went to school in London and it stuck.
[00:27:48] [SPEAKER_02]: And it stuck.
[00:27:50] [SPEAKER_02]: They thought of everything.
[00:27:53] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh man.
[00:27:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, that was a good one.
[00:27:55] [SPEAKER_02]: Anyways, so I mean,
[00:27:57] [SPEAKER_02]: that was always,
[00:27:58] [SPEAKER_02]: that was a good two-part or two kind of get us engaged in,
[00:28:03] [SPEAKER_02]: engaged.
[00:28:05] [SPEAKER_02]: And you know,
[00:28:06] [SPEAKER_02]: one is to know what was gonna happen next.
[00:28:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Which of course the third episode would be?
[00:28:09] [SPEAKER_02]: And I love this little reference
[00:28:11] [SPEAKER_02]: is that instead of who watches the watchers,
[00:28:15] [SPEAKER_02]: it's who says the Savior's?
[00:28:17] [SPEAKER_08]: How did the protest argue back last time?
[00:28:19] [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, perhaps it was us who were always here
[00:28:22] [SPEAKER_05]: to help them.
[00:28:23] [SPEAKER_05]: A curious observation,
[00:28:25] [SPEAKER_05]: it would not be the first instance
[00:28:27] [SPEAKER_05]: of a causal time loop in Starfleet history.
[00:28:30] [SPEAKER_05]: The bell riots, the caulcron warped test?
[00:28:32] [SPEAKER_08]: I don't know what just came out of her mouth,
[00:28:35] [SPEAKER_08]: but if we're the ones who were supposed
[00:28:37] [SPEAKER_08]: to start this jailbreak,
[00:28:38] [SPEAKER_08]: then we gotta figure it out best.
[00:28:41] That's not it.
[00:28:43] [SPEAKER_08]: He's like, I don't know what.
[00:28:46] [SPEAKER_04]: I love that the way he delivers those lines is great.
[00:28:51] [SPEAKER_02]: It's like, I don't,
[00:28:51] [SPEAKER_02]: it, you know what it reminds me of?
[00:28:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Was it Chris Tucker?
[00:28:56] [SPEAKER_02]: You understand the words?
[00:28:58] [SPEAKER_02]: I thought that was not that bad moment.
[00:29:02] [SPEAKER_02]: He's just like,
[00:29:03] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know what he was saying.
[00:29:05] [SPEAKER_02]: You're speaking techno-bable
[00:29:07] [SPEAKER_02]: and I don't have time for this.
[00:29:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Also I love there's another voyage home throwback here
[00:29:12] [SPEAKER_04]: with she's got the bandana covering her ears,
[00:29:16] [SPEAKER_04]: like, spark.
[00:29:18] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:29:18] [SPEAKER_04]: I loved it.
[00:29:18] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh my gosh, I loved it.
[00:29:21] [SPEAKER_02]: And I think, is this the one where we actually got introduced to Gillian?
[00:29:26] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if it was this one or the next one.
[00:29:28] [SPEAKER_02]: It was probably the next one, but
[00:29:30] [SPEAKER_02]: when I remember the mentioning the whale,
[00:29:34] [SPEAKER_02]: you know, because our on the ship
[00:29:36] [SPEAKER_02]: and it was in the whale is talking to rock like,
[00:29:40] [SPEAKER_02]: do you want to talk about it?
[00:29:42] [SPEAKER_02]: And she's like, Matt now, Gillian.
[00:29:44] [SPEAKER_02]: And it just cracked me up
[00:29:45] [SPEAKER_02]: because it's like, it's like,
[00:29:46] [SPEAKER_02]: it's had George and Gracie's kid
[00:29:48] [SPEAKER_02]: or their granddaughter, what's going on?
[00:29:50] [SPEAKER_02]: And sure enough, it's a grand daughter.
[00:29:52] [SPEAKER_04]: And I like, like, like, like,
[00:29:53] [SPEAKER_04]: like, dolly talking whale in a fine name.
[00:29:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Exactly.
[00:29:57] [SPEAKER_02]: I know.
[00:29:57] [SPEAKER_02]: And I was like, at this big whale,
[00:29:59] [SPEAKER_02]: it was perfect.
[00:30:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Jump in the gum, but I had to throw that out there.
[00:30:04] [SPEAKER_02]: I think though,
[00:30:06] [SPEAKER_02]: I loved that scene and I had to clip it
[00:30:08] [SPEAKER_02]: because she's mentioning, you know,
[00:30:10] [SPEAKER_02]: the bell riots in the,
[00:30:12] [SPEAKER_02]: and the warp test and stuff like that
[00:30:14] [SPEAKER_02]: because yeah, it happened.
[00:30:17] [SPEAKER_02]: And even though they didn't know it happened,
[00:30:19] [SPEAKER_02]: they were part of it to make it happen, right?
[00:30:23] [SPEAKER_02]: And the same thing,
[00:30:25] [SPEAKER_02]: what was it that I was thinking of?
[00:30:28] [SPEAKER_02]: That was like, oh, they were part of that too
[00:30:30] [SPEAKER_02]: and then it had to happen.
[00:30:32] [SPEAKER_02]: But that's usually how it goes.
[00:30:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Like you think there's something,
[00:30:37] [SPEAKER_02]: oh, you can't change history.
[00:30:38] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, it was a,
[00:30:40] [SPEAKER_02]: oh, season five finale with the dividends,
[00:30:46] [SPEAKER_02]: they go to the 1891 TNG.
[00:30:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Time zero.
[00:30:52] [SPEAKER_02]: Thank you.
[00:30:53] [SPEAKER_02]: That was the whole point, right?
[00:30:54] [SPEAKER_02]: He had to go back there so he could make guidance
[00:30:56] [SPEAKER_02]: and let everything fall into place.
[00:30:59] [SPEAKER_02]: She knew that was gonna happen.
[00:31:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Data's head had to show up.
[00:31:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Like everything had to happen for a reason.
[00:31:04] [SPEAKER_02]: This was the same exact thing.
[00:31:05] [SPEAKER_02]: So as I was saying, oh, maybe it was us
[00:31:07] [SPEAKER_02]: that helped him do it.
[00:31:08] [SPEAKER_02]: And I loved how they just ingrained that into,
[00:31:12] [SPEAKER_02]: not only that was the first season.
[00:31:14] [SPEAKER_02]: I was always these little things that were just like
[00:31:17] [SPEAKER_02]: there was a whole reason for it.
[00:31:19] [SPEAKER_02]: And of course, they're threading this on purpose
[00:31:21] [SPEAKER_02]: for the big reveal in episode nine
[00:31:23] [SPEAKER_02]: which we will talk about.
[00:31:26] [SPEAKER_02]: But I did enjoy,
[00:31:29] [SPEAKER_02]: if they found Chicote,
[00:31:30] [SPEAKER_02]: he's no longer just a video.
[00:31:31] [SPEAKER_02]: He's actually there with his first officer.
[00:31:34] [SPEAKER_02]: They're trying to figure it out.
[00:31:35] [SPEAKER_02]: I kind of cracked up with Jacob.
[00:31:37] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm really trying hard not to do the bird buns
[00:31:39] [SPEAKER_02]: and he didn't do it.
[00:31:42] [SPEAKER_02]: But then they're all like not sure about saving him
[00:31:45] [SPEAKER_02]: too soon.
[00:31:46] [SPEAKER_02]: What's gonna happen?
[00:31:47] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it's a whole just log going on.
[00:31:52] [SPEAKER_03]: That's not enough.
[00:31:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Time you wind me stuff.
[00:31:56] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, is your favorite part about this episode?
[00:32:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Honestly, I was, I was,
[00:32:04] [SPEAKER_04]: I was Chris from shelf nerds
[00:32:07] [SPEAKER_04]: and I were interacting back and forth.
[00:32:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Around the time I was watching this season,
[00:32:13] [SPEAKER_04]: and we were actually talking about Chicote's character.
[00:32:15] [SPEAKER_04]: And I think my favorite part of this episode
[00:32:19] [SPEAKER_04]: and it carries through the rest of the season
[00:32:21] [SPEAKER_04]: is I always felt Chicote was a bit too dimensional
[00:32:25] [SPEAKER_04]: as a character.
[00:32:27] [SPEAKER_04]: There was a much much dimension
[00:32:29] [SPEAKER_02]: in the two of X episode.
[00:32:32] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, there's just not a whole lot of development with him
[00:32:34] [SPEAKER_04]: and I feel like,
[00:32:37] [SPEAKER_04]: you know, whether you like or dislike Chicote,
[00:32:40] [SPEAKER_04]: I think he got a lot of growth this season.
[00:32:45] [SPEAKER_04]: And then this first episode,
[00:32:46] [SPEAKER_04]: you kind of see him a little different than we've kind of say.
[00:32:49] [SPEAKER_04]: I think his character's always been kind of bland
[00:32:51] [SPEAKER_04]: and I think that's more,
[00:32:52] [SPEAKER_04]: there was more of the writing versus the acting,
[00:32:54] [SPEAKER_04]: I think on Voyager
[00:32:57] [SPEAKER_04]: because every other character got so much growth on Voyager, right?
[00:33:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:33:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Got even knee-licks.
[00:33:09] [SPEAKER_04]: But then, but Chicote kind of just stayed
[00:33:11] [SPEAKER_04]: where he was I think through most of the season
[00:33:13] [SPEAKER_04]: and now you're seeing him,
[00:33:18] [SPEAKER_04]: want to see a little more authoritative.
[00:33:20] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.
[00:33:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Or like the Starfleet side of it.
[00:33:25] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean that's not to say Chicote didn't have some good moments
[00:33:28] [SPEAKER_04]: in Voyager because I think he really did.
[00:33:30] [SPEAKER_04]: And you know, I told you I'm doing a rewatch
[00:33:32] [SPEAKER_04]: of that show and I tried to pay a little more attention
[00:33:35] [SPEAKER_04]: to Chicote and I do like when he stands up
[00:33:39] [SPEAKER_04]: to the mock-y crew in that show
[00:33:42] [SPEAKER_04]: and tries to instill the Starfleetness.
[00:33:49] [SPEAKER_04]: But I like that,
[00:33:51] [SPEAKER_04]: I think that this is the first,
[00:33:53] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm such a co-oty and kind of a new light
[00:33:55] [SPEAKER_04]: I started to enjoy the character a little more
[00:33:58] [SPEAKER_04]: and it started.
[00:34:00] [SPEAKER_02]: I think right.
[00:34:02] [SPEAKER_02]: And I think to his first officer was a drink?
[00:34:09] [SPEAKER_02]: Is it?
[00:34:10] [SPEAKER_02]: Maybe, I don't know, someone's an emitric.
[00:34:14] [SPEAKER_02]: But I think for there was a good balance
[00:34:18] [SPEAKER_02]: between those two characters.
[00:34:20] [SPEAKER_02]: And I think that's what made it different.
[00:34:21] [SPEAKER_02]: He had this first officer we never saw before.
[00:34:25] [SPEAKER_02]: Little different than Chicote Chicote
[00:34:26] [SPEAKER_02]: is pretty relaxed, right?
[00:34:28] [SPEAKER_02]: Even though he could be a thorn
[00:34:29] [SPEAKER_02]: of what he needs to, he's not this,
[00:34:32] [SPEAKER_02]: being in the whip kind of thing
[00:34:33] [SPEAKER_02]: like get-to-work kind of like he's very chill
[00:34:35] [SPEAKER_02]: with his workers, right?
[00:34:37] [SPEAKER_02]: Or his crew.
[00:34:40] [SPEAKER_02]: And his first officer though
[00:34:41] [SPEAKER_02]: was a little bit more stirred
[00:34:42] [SPEAKER_02]: so they had a good balance
[00:34:44] [SPEAKER_02]: which is why I think the loss
[00:34:46] [SPEAKER_02]: of his first officer later on
[00:34:47] [SPEAKER_02]: than the season was so hard for him
[00:34:49] [SPEAKER_02]: because he lost that balance
[00:34:52] [SPEAKER_02]: and then trying to understand
[00:34:54] [SPEAKER_02]: why these kids show up and everything like that
[00:34:56] [SPEAKER_02]: but Chicote is just like let's go for it.
[00:34:58] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, all this does do it.
[00:34:59] [SPEAKER_02]: We want to get out of here
[00:35:01] [SPEAKER_02]: and his first officer is just like,
[00:35:03] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know and for good reason.
[00:35:06] [SPEAKER_02]: But then that also goes kind of at the same time
[00:35:09] [SPEAKER_02]: of what's happening with Gwen
[00:35:10] [SPEAKER_02]: as she's fighting, as Sencia
[00:35:13] [SPEAKER_02]: and trying to convince the whole council
[00:35:15] [SPEAKER_02]: and all that stuff of what she's saying is true.
[00:35:21] [SPEAKER_02]: I know that there's this timey,
[00:35:23] [SPEAKER_02]: whami interesting situation going on for Gwen
[00:35:29] [SPEAKER_02]: but I'm wondering how she became the main point
[00:35:32] [SPEAKER_02]: of being stuck in that paradox.
[00:35:38] [SPEAKER_02]: Like what made it with her
[00:35:40] [SPEAKER_02]: caused her to be the one to get stuck, right?
[00:35:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Do you know what I say?
[00:35:47] [SPEAKER_02]: Like what was special about Gwen
[00:35:48] [SPEAKER_02]: because the moment that the kids accidentally messed up
[00:35:53] [SPEAKER_02]: and Chicote took off with the protestar
[00:35:55] [SPEAKER_02]: instead of taking it off without him?
[00:35:58] [SPEAKER_04]: What's, cause I think she wouldn't have been born.
[00:36:01] [SPEAKER_02]: She shouldn't have been born, right?
[00:36:03] [SPEAKER_02]: But instead of her just disappearing
[00:36:05] [SPEAKER_02]: because that happened, she got stuck in that paradox.
[00:36:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Because time hadn't also decided if they had failed yet.
[00:36:15] [SPEAKER_04]: If that makes sense.
[00:36:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Who'd timey why me stuck?
[00:36:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I don't.
[00:36:21] [SPEAKER_02]: It's, that's where I got confused.
[00:36:23] [SPEAKER_02]: I was like, but it could widen it happen to anyone.
[00:36:28] [SPEAKER_02]: Like why was it Gwen?
[00:36:29] [SPEAKER_02]: What was it about Gwen that's causing this whole situation?
[00:36:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.
[00:36:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Because...
[00:36:38] [SPEAKER_04]: But also like, even with the rest of the protestar crew,
[00:36:42] [SPEAKER_04]: like none of them would have got to the off-aliquadron.
[00:36:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.
[00:36:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Right. So how can they weren't affected?
[00:36:50] [SPEAKER_04]: But still, I mean, it's timey why me stuck
[00:36:53] [SPEAKER_04]: in track never makes sense.
[00:36:55] [SPEAKER_04]: And I think that's also the point.
[00:36:57] [SPEAKER_04]: So...
[00:36:58] [SPEAKER_02]: True, don't overthink it. Is that what you're telling me?
[00:37:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Right. Yes.
[00:37:01] [SPEAKER_04]: I always, I always like the episode with,
[00:37:05] [SPEAKER_04]: in Voyager where if they're sitting around
[00:37:08] [SPEAKER_04]: the table on the briefing room
[00:37:10] [SPEAKER_04]: or and Tom Paris is saying something.
[00:37:13] [SPEAKER_04]: He's like asking a bunch of questions about time
[00:37:15] [SPEAKER_04]: and he's like,
[00:37:18] [SPEAKER_04]: am I making any sense in Jane was like, no, but that's okay.
[00:37:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Work week week.
[00:37:24] [SPEAKER_02]: So basically it's the same thing.
[00:37:26] [SPEAKER_04]: And even Jane, way I think in a later episode
[00:37:28] [SPEAKER_04]: in the series says something about,
[00:37:31] [SPEAKER_04]: when it comes to time period ox's her rule
[00:37:33] [SPEAKER_04]: is to not try to make sense of it.
[00:37:37] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. No, that's true.
[00:37:38] [SPEAKER_02]: I did like...
[00:37:41] [SPEAKER_02]: And they mentioned this in the next episode
[00:37:43] [SPEAKER_02]: because they realized, okay, the kids messed up.
[00:37:45] [SPEAKER_02]: How are we gonna stop this?
[00:37:47] [SPEAKER_02]: And of course, then that's when we see that,
[00:37:49] [SPEAKER_02]: you know, something's affecting wind
[00:37:50] [SPEAKER_02]: but the very last thing you see is Murphy's talking
[00:37:53] [SPEAKER_02]: to something.
[00:37:55] [SPEAKER_02]: I thought it was Chicote.
[00:37:57] [SPEAKER_02]: I was all...
[00:38:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Who was he talking to?
[00:38:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Because it was like, that's why my thing says
[00:38:03] [SPEAKER_02]: the mysterious ghost because I thought
[00:38:06] [SPEAKER_02]: that maybe Chicote somehow got through
[00:38:10] [SPEAKER_02]: and that's where, you know,
[00:38:13] [SPEAKER_02]: he was trying to get Murphy to help
[00:38:15] [SPEAKER_02]: so then they wouldn't abandon the whole situation.
[00:38:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Wrong.
[00:38:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Wrong.
[00:38:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Very wrong.
[00:38:24] [SPEAKER_02]: But it's fine.
[00:38:25] [SPEAKER_02]: But I liked how Murphy...
[00:38:28] [SPEAKER_02]: in the episode cute,
[00:38:30] [SPEAKER_02]: it's just thrilling of like an amazement
[00:38:33] [SPEAKER_02]: and doesn't know how to take all this information.
[00:38:35] [SPEAKER_02]: And Murphy might be so much of R2G2.
[00:38:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Again, in those Star Wars reference, I'm sorry.
[00:38:41] [SPEAKER_04]: But...
[00:38:41] [SPEAKER_04]: It's all good.
[00:38:42] [SPEAKER_04]: It's just...
[00:38:43] [SPEAKER_04]: I think this is...
[00:38:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Look, this is the way I see it.
[00:38:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Star Wars references, I think, are appropriate
[00:38:49] [SPEAKER_04]: for the show because I view this show
[00:38:51] [SPEAKER_04]: as Star Trek's Clone Wars.
[00:38:54] [SPEAKER_04]: That's the way I see it.
[00:38:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Which, yeah.
[00:38:55] [SPEAKER_04]: I think it's got that dark, those dark undertones
[00:38:57] [SPEAKER_04]: but again, like, it's got kids in mind.
[00:39:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:39:01] [SPEAKER_04]: The animation is really good just like Clone Wars was.
[00:39:04] [SPEAKER_04]: To me, that's the way I look at this show.
[00:39:08] [SPEAKER_04]: So, bring on the Star Wars references.
[00:39:10] [SPEAKER_02]: Bring on the Star Wars.
[00:39:10] [SPEAKER_02]: So, it's funny because I actually saw more of...
[00:39:15] [SPEAKER_02]: But now, drawing a blank, oh my gosh, I'm tired.
[00:39:19] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm pulling a six day this week.
[00:39:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Rebels.
[00:39:22] [SPEAKER_04]: It was a fun.
[00:39:23] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:39:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Star Wars Rebels is what I was thinking about.
[00:39:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Or maybe a combination of the two.
[00:39:29] [SPEAKER_02]: A combination of the two.
[00:39:31] [SPEAKER_04]: Mm-hmm.
[00:39:32] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:39:33] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know why, but Merff just reminds me of R2D2
[00:39:35] [SPEAKER_02]: and there was a reference later on in the season
[00:39:37] [SPEAKER_02]: that I was like, that's R2.
[00:39:40] [SPEAKER_02]: We'll get to.
[00:39:42] [SPEAKER_02]: But this next episode, Temple Mechanics,
[00:39:44] [SPEAKER_02]: I think really set the tone for how the season was gonna go.
[00:39:51] [SPEAKER_05]: It appears the console is malfunctioning.
[00:39:55] [SPEAKER_03]: Mm-hmm.
[00:40:01] [SPEAKER_09]: How interesting.
[00:40:04] [SPEAKER_06]: Ah, safe, win!
[00:40:07] [SPEAKER_06]: Where were we at that company?
[00:40:08] [SPEAKER_09]: Save her.
[00:40:10] [SPEAKER_09]: How can we do that if she's 52 years in the past?
[00:40:14] [SPEAKER_05]: Unclear, but we are receiving coordinates
[00:40:17] [SPEAKER_05]: that need to somewhere on this planet.
[00:40:20] [SPEAKER_08]: Is this message coming from Wager?
[00:40:31] [SPEAKER_09]: If this message wasn't sent from Voyager,
[00:40:34] [SPEAKER_09]: who was it from?
[00:40:37] [SPEAKER_02]: I definitely got disengaged vibes on the scene from...
[00:40:42] [SPEAKER_02]: Thank you.
[00:40:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes, I was just thinking I have to mention that.
[00:40:47] [SPEAKER_04]: So that's what I'm talking about.
[00:40:48] [SPEAKER_02]: We might melded Jay.
[00:40:49] [SPEAKER_02]: This is why you're here.
[00:40:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, the whole of the Raffee and Wurf.
[00:40:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Back before.
[00:40:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Yep.
[00:40:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Where we don't know who it is
[00:40:56] [SPEAKER_02]: and you're talking to it and it's like, no,
[00:40:58] [SPEAKER_02]: or it's like saying, you know, these different...
[00:41:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Sanes that confusing.
[00:41:03] [SPEAKER_02]: You're like, I do understand.
[00:41:08] [SPEAKER_02]: I liked this because this really got down to, okay,
[00:41:12] [SPEAKER_02]: we messed up, wins in trouble.
[00:41:14] [SPEAKER_02]: How are we gonna fix this?
[00:41:15] [SPEAKER_02]: We gotta go save her.
[00:41:17] [SPEAKER_02]: And as much as Jayneway wants to help,
[00:41:21] [SPEAKER_02]: she can't, which I think that this is where we...
[00:41:26] [SPEAKER_02]: Uh...
[00:41:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Is this the word where she talks to Jeliko or is that the next episode?
[00:41:33] [SPEAKER_02]: I think it was the next episode where she talks to Jeliko
[00:41:35] [SPEAKER_02]: where he's telling her to stop because she's trying to save Gwen.
[00:41:40] [SPEAKER_02]: Um, which we'll talk a little bit.
[00:41:41] [SPEAKER_02]: But I think for them now, now, Dau has that motivation to go, okay,
[00:41:48] [SPEAKER_02]: we messed up.
[00:41:49] [SPEAKER_02]: Now Gwen might die because of my mistake
[00:41:51] [SPEAKER_02]: because he left that gun.
[00:41:53] [SPEAKER_02]: That was the whole reason that changed the whole thing.
[00:41:55] [SPEAKER_02]: He left that phaser rifle.
[00:41:58] [SPEAKER_02]: Shukote picked it up, jumped in the ship and took off.
[00:42:03] [SPEAKER_02]: And then of course they're flipping to Gwen going in
[00:42:07] [SPEAKER_02]: and out because her quantum signature is misplaced
[00:42:10] [SPEAKER_02]: and her father shows up.
[00:42:13] [SPEAKER_02]: And then she's also hearing this voice like, stay together
[00:42:16] [SPEAKER_02]: and you're an I'm thinking again, I'm thinking it's Jacote
[00:42:19] [SPEAKER_02]: because I'm all like, why is he trying to get everyone
[00:42:22] [SPEAKER_02]: to stay together and what is going on?
[00:42:25] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm sure he wants them to find him.
[00:42:28] [SPEAKER_02]: But how does that work with Gwen being stuck at two places at once?
[00:42:35] [SPEAKER_02]: So this is where like that time you saw me step as we did earlier
[00:42:39] [SPEAKER_02]: was getting really into my head and I was like,
[00:42:41] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't understand.
[00:42:44] [SPEAKER_02]: And I don't think I'm ever going to.
[00:42:46] [SPEAKER_02]: Um, which is fine.
[00:42:47] [SPEAKER_02]: But I did, I did love the little scene
[00:42:50] [SPEAKER_02]: though between her father and Gwen because he was just worried
[00:42:54] [SPEAKER_02]: and he was just happy he had a kid who was like,
[00:42:56] [SPEAKER_02]: but I'm here, you know, and he made references.
[00:42:59] [SPEAKER_02]: He's like, why wasn't that bad of a dad?
[00:43:01] [SPEAKER_02]: And she's like, it's complicated.
[00:43:06] [SPEAKER_04]: You were kind of hitler.
[00:43:14] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm not wrong.
[00:43:17] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh my gosh.
[00:43:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Uh, I, I did like the, um,
[00:43:25] [SPEAKER_02]: when Dallas like really not understood.
[00:43:28] [SPEAKER_02]: He's like, no, I did not read, you know,
[00:43:30] [SPEAKER_02]: temporal mechanics 101 because they've been saying that
[00:43:33] [SPEAKER_02]: the last three episodes and then when Jane was like,
[00:43:36] [SPEAKER_02]: how do I help?
[00:43:36] [SPEAKER_02]: He's like, can you send me the information
[00:43:39] [SPEAKER_02]: that you're from?
[00:43:40] [SPEAKER_02]: I guess I want to want to please where we see Dr. Averan.
[00:43:43] [SPEAKER_02]: That was cute.
[00:43:45] [SPEAKER_02]: I liked that.
[00:43:47] [SPEAKER_02]: That we got to see her portray herself really as a
[00:43:51] [SPEAKER_02]: starfleet officer.
[00:43:52] Yeah.
[00:43:53] [SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, there was definitely a good moment.
[00:43:55] [SPEAKER_02]: So may also got the doctor saying, I'm a doctor
[00:43:57] [SPEAKER_02]: not an exorcist.
[00:44:00] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, was this me, was this the episode two
[00:44:02] [SPEAKER_04]: where he like gets all the way through temper mechanics 101?
[00:44:05] [SPEAKER_04]: And she's like, okay, now for 102 or 201 or whatever it was.
[00:44:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, 201.
[00:44:11] [SPEAKER_02]: And he was like, you know, and then it was that
[00:44:15] [SPEAKER_02]: he gets through it.
[00:44:17] [SPEAKER_02]: And when they do find win because, you know,
[00:44:19] [SPEAKER_02]: they're trying to get their ship to get there and they're like,
[00:44:22] [SPEAKER_02]: we got to build a time machine.
[00:44:23] [SPEAKER_02]: They're like, oh yeah, that's great.
[00:44:26] [SPEAKER_02]: And when they do get to win,
[00:44:30] [SPEAKER_02]: they says something to Gwen's dad.
[00:44:33] [SPEAKER_02]: And I remember it was like zero and like all of them
[00:44:36] [SPEAKER_02]: looked at him like, and he's like, yes,
[00:44:39] [SPEAKER_02]: I know about general.
[00:44:40] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't like it.
[00:44:43] [SPEAKER_02]: It was like this long running joke for four episodes
[00:44:46] [SPEAKER_02]: and it finally hit his pitch, but it was like perfectly done.
[00:44:49] [SPEAKER_04]: It was a little setting that punch line up for four episodes.
[00:44:52] [SPEAKER_02]: I did it for an up until, no, Gwen.
[00:44:56] [SPEAKER_02]: But it was, it was perfect.
[00:44:58] [SPEAKER_02]: I did like that.
[00:45:00] [SPEAKER_02]: I do kind of want to talk about a little bit where I'm
[00:45:05] [SPEAKER_02]: calling it the West Fear of that talking ball of energy
[00:45:10] [SPEAKER_02]: to Janeway say, do not go in.
[00:45:15] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, everyone's watched the season.
[00:45:16] [SPEAKER_02]: It was Wesley.
[00:45:17] [SPEAKER_02]: So Wesley was busy, right?
[00:45:19] [SPEAKER_02]: He's just, don't go on the wormhole yet.
[00:45:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Don't do this.
[00:45:23] [SPEAKER_02]: But you got to say, Gwen, OK, your ship's not flying.
[00:45:25] [SPEAKER_02]: I'll fly it.
[00:45:27] [SPEAKER_02]: I'll talk to Merff.
[00:45:28] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to just, I wonder he was a little all over the place
[00:45:34] [SPEAKER_02]: when they found him.
[00:45:36] [SPEAKER_02]: He wasn't where they had landed, right?
[00:45:38] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:45:40] [SPEAKER_04]: That scatterbrained.
[00:45:41] [SPEAKER_02]: That scatterbrained.
[00:45:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I we watched, I rewatched your interview with Aaron.
[00:45:48] [SPEAKER_04]: And I like that whole part where you're talking about how
[00:45:53] [SPEAKER_04]: West was a little confused.
[00:45:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:45:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Through it.
[00:45:57] [SPEAKER_02]: And he had his only call it.
[00:46:00] [SPEAKER_02]: I was again, typical Thursday for my kid in L.
[00:46:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Same.
[00:46:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Same.
[00:46:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:46:08] [SPEAKER_04]: What was I saying?
[00:46:11] [SPEAKER_02]: You were talking about Aaron.
[00:46:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, yeah.
[00:46:13] [SPEAKER_04]: And I also like, like, because even in Kota,
[00:46:17] [SPEAKER_04]: like he had a little bit of that going on too.
[00:46:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:46:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Through the novels, we're like, oh, right.
[00:46:23] [SPEAKER_04]: I, we're not there yet or something.
[00:46:25] [SPEAKER_04]: We're not there yet.
[00:46:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.
[00:46:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:46:26] [SPEAKER_04]: In the book, because things happened in, in different order, right?
[00:46:30] [SPEAKER_04]: Like they, yes.
[00:46:32] [SPEAKER_04]: First time they come across Wesley is like his older self
[00:46:34] [SPEAKER_04]: at the end of his life.
[00:46:36] [SPEAKER_04]: And then he's older.
[00:46:37] [SPEAKER_04]: And then it's younger West comes and gets the,
[00:46:41] [SPEAKER_04]: what's the device that he's got?
[00:46:43] [SPEAKER_04]: It's like a tree.
[00:46:43] [SPEAKER_02]: It was like a little ball.
[00:46:45] [SPEAKER_02]: It was a little sphere thing.
[00:46:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Something chronic or something.
[00:46:48] [SPEAKER_04]: I can't remember.
[00:46:49] [SPEAKER_04]: But that is it will do stuff made for his younger self really.
[00:46:54] [SPEAKER_04]: But yeah, yeah, like the, the parallels between this and Kota.
[00:46:59] [SPEAKER_04]: And again, and Aaron said he'd never, they had never read it.
[00:47:04] [SPEAKER_04]: So he didn't even know.
[00:47:06] [SPEAKER_04]: But to me, what that tells you is that I think there was a very clear path
[00:47:09] [SPEAKER_04]: for the story of Wesley Crusher and kind of where it would go.
[00:47:14] [SPEAKER_04]: It's interesting again that two different parties came up with a similar, similar story.
[00:47:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Because I was watching the season and I'm like,
[00:47:22] [SPEAKER_04]: have we just tried to canonize Kota a little bit?
[00:47:25] [SPEAKER_02]: Which is fine by me.
[00:47:27] [SPEAKER_04]: Absolutely.
[00:47:28] [SPEAKER_04]: It's a great story.
[00:47:28] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, just please don't have Beverly Sea Wesley die like three times.
[00:47:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Let's just not do that.
[00:47:36] [SPEAKER_02]: And then they didn't, but still.
[00:47:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Maybe that's why she says she lost Wesley.
[00:47:41] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, shoot.
[00:47:44] [SPEAKER_03]: Probably.
[00:47:46] [SPEAKER_02]: She saw an older version of Wesley die in those 20 years.
[00:47:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, I just ruined my night.
[00:47:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Who knows if they'll do that.
[00:47:56] [SPEAKER_02]: But no, that's I did get Kota vibes well.
[00:47:58] [SPEAKER_02]: I was watching this season especially because of all the strange things that were happening.
[00:48:02] [SPEAKER_02]: You didn't know what was going on.
[00:48:04] [SPEAKER_02]: Definitely got Dr. Huvibs for the same reason.
[00:48:06] [SPEAKER_02]: Like you just didn't know what was going on.
[00:48:08] [SPEAKER_02]: And we even had mentioned River Song because there was those moments of,
[00:48:12] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, we haven't been here yet.
[00:48:14] [SPEAKER_02]: So I, you know, that's why she had the book.
[00:48:15] [SPEAKER_02]: She had her diary for a reason.
[00:48:17] [SPEAKER_02]: Like where are we today?
[00:48:19] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, because she couldn't keep track of where she would meet the doctor.
[00:48:24] [SPEAKER_02]: That's what he needed.
[00:48:26] [SPEAKER_02]: He needed it.
[00:48:26] [SPEAKER_02]: He needed a diary.
[00:48:27] [SPEAKER_02]: He needed a book.
[00:48:29] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:48:30] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, let's take a look at the community.
[00:48:31] [SPEAKER_04]: What I think is interesting is, is, and again, I haven't watched Dr. Huvibs,
[00:48:36] [SPEAKER_04]: but I could still see all the influences, right?
[00:48:41] [SPEAKER_04]: So I just thought it was interesting that, you know, they nailed all these amazing
[00:48:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Dr. Huvibs influence like you could see it in there.
[00:48:49] [SPEAKER_04]: And then Kota, like the similarity was completely on accident, right?
[00:48:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Like on accident.
[00:48:57] [SPEAKER_02]: And I, I even mentioned this because the writers of the book and the show are fans.
[00:49:04] [SPEAKER_02]: And I think we all kind of came to that conclusion of where Wesley should be as a traveler.
[00:49:10] [SPEAKER_02]: Just all over the place, Skatterbrane, and makes sense that he can't keep track with one thing
[00:49:15] [SPEAKER_02]: over another.
[00:49:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Well, it's not like, you know, and I remember Aaron saying, in your interview,
[00:49:22] [SPEAKER_04]: like he's not a cue.
[00:49:24] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, that's, that's, that's, that's much more, much more advanced, right?
[00:49:29] [SPEAKER_04]: But even, even still like cues run around and just, they're like, like,
[00:49:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Loki, like they just mess with shit all over the place.
[00:49:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:49:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Where, where, where Wesley, it's more of a job, right?
[00:49:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:49:42] [SPEAKER_04]: Because job is to, to make sure that the, the timeline goes as it's supposed to.
[00:49:48] [SPEAKER_02]: As exposed to, and he has a purpose, you know, so.
[00:49:54] [SPEAKER_04]: And this was, I mean, he has direct reports, right?
[00:49:56] [SPEAKER_04]: He's got the supervisors.
[00:49:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Shh.
[00:50:00] [SPEAKER_02]: What else was to know about the supervisor?
[00:50:02] [SPEAKER_02]: That's right.
[00:50:02] [SPEAKER_04]: That's right.
[00:50:03] [SPEAKER_02]: It won't exist.
[00:50:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Now of course, the next episode, I think really kind of put a nice little bow on these first five
[00:50:13] [SPEAKER_02]: episodes with their episode of servers paradigm.
[00:50:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Wait, computer, go back.
[00:50:48] [SPEAKER_06]: Action.
[00:50:52] [SPEAKER_02]: Captain Djokote.
[00:50:57] [SPEAKER_02]: This was why I thought it was Djokote this whole time.
[00:51:00] [SPEAKER_02]: I feel like it was just all lining up to go.
[00:51:03] [SPEAKER_04]: That it was Djokote.
[00:51:04] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm kind of.
[00:51:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Also, is that the, was that the colony from the TNG episode?
[00:51:11] [SPEAKER_02]: I think so.
[00:51:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Would think with the name of everything?
[00:51:15] [SPEAKER_02]: No, didn't.
[00:51:17] [SPEAKER_02]: So at first, I thought it was because they said
[00:51:20] [SPEAKER_02]: it was a non-federation colony, right?
[00:51:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Well, it's ex-federation.
[00:51:25] [SPEAKER_04]: So, ex-federation.
[00:51:26] [SPEAKER_02]: So they used to be been no longer, right?
[00:51:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Like it.
[00:51:31] [SPEAKER_04]: That's that's the, right?
[00:51:33] [SPEAKER_04]: So there went the one episode in TNG where there's the, the natives that they're trying to move.
[00:51:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Journey's end.
[00:51:40] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:51:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Because of the DMZ, right?
[00:51:43] [SPEAKER_02]: And I, but I, but didn't they have a voyage or episode that talked about Chakote
[00:51:48] [SPEAKER_02]: and his people being misplaced or moving around?
[00:51:52] [SPEAKER_02]: Was that the same?
[00:51:53] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't think I ever really, I don't know.
[00:51:56] [SPEAKER_02]: Cross-reference that, well, now I'm doing some study.
[00:51:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Well, I feel like somebody's, who's watching should put in comments and let us know.
[00:52:04] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, help us out here.
[00:52:06] [SPEAKER_02]: Where is your, when you need them?
[00:52:09] [SPEAKER_02]: I, because he's on Twitter.
[00:52:11] [SPEAKER_02]: He's on Twitter.
[00:52:13] [SPEAKER_02]: But I think, because at this point they went and saved Gwyn and they brought her in,
[00:52:18] [SPEAKER_02]: this is that Jeloko scene where Jeloko finds out.
[00:52:21] [SPEAKER_02]: And I was so excited.
[00:52:22] [SPEAKER_02]: They were referencing Jeloko, but to actually see him and I heard Ronnie Cox's voice.
[00:52:27] [SPEAKER_04]: I was all, he was, he was in season one also, right?
[00:52:32] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, he had an episode of season one.
[00:52:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:52:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Think so.
[00:52:36] [SPEAKER_04]: I think there was a, there was like, I remember, especially the end at the end of the season.
[00:52:40] [SPEAKER_04]: I really wish I had rewatch season one.
[00:52:42] [SPEAKER_04]: I know, I should have, I already, I did watch it twice.
[00:52:47] [SPEAKER_04]: But it's been a while.
[00:52:48] [SPEAKER_02]: It's been a while. Yeah.
[00:52:49] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. No, but I, but I guess I just wasn't expecting it, you know?
[00:52:55] [SPEAKER_02]: So I enjoyed that part.
[00:52:57] [SPEAKER_02]: And of course, he's always the bearer or bad news.
[00:53:00] [SPEAKER_02]: And he asked to tell her, no, we can't go after Chikote.
[00:53:03] [SPEAKER_02]: It's too dangerous, you know.
[00:53:05] [SPEAKER_02]: So sorry, Gwyn's gonna die, but we have bigger problems.
[00:53:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, it was just kind of like, yeah.
[00:53:10] [SPEAKER_02]: Sorry. And that was the scene where I started laughing and I tweeted about this because
[00:53:14] [SPEAKER_02]: I was cracking up where she's all, what's, uh, jealous goes first Edward is Edward.
[00:53:21] [SPEAKER_02]: She's like Edward. I can't hear you.
[00:53:24] [SPEAKER_02]: I, and then it cuts off and then her, her bridge over the look.
[00:53:27] [SPEAKER_02]: She's like, what? I wasn't lying.
[00:53:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, I was all like, I am so, yay.
[00:53:32] [SPEAKER_04]: That's, that's, that's, you totally pulled out.
[00:53:34] [SPEAKER_04]: We're going through a tunnel.
[00:53:36] [SPEAKER_02]: That's my tunnel.
[00:53:39] [SPEAKER_02]: You know?
[00:53:41] [SPEAKER_02]: Laughing so hard at that said, I was like, oh my gosh, I love doing it.
[00:53:44] [SPEAKER_02]: I love doing it.
[00:53:45] [SPEAKER_04]: So the glad Kate went, my guru is just back.
[00:53:48] [SPEAKER_02]: I know.
[00:53:49] [SPEAKER_02]: And but it's awesome too, is that because season one we saw her as the holocaust,
[00:53:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Janeway. So she had to be very voyager, Janeway.
[00:53:58] [SPEAKER_02]: Right, just like when gates came back in Kobe, Yashie, she had to be very TNG.
[00:54:03] [SPEAKER_02]: Beverly because that was the character they were playing.
[00:54:07] [SPEAKER_02]: As for, you know, especially for Kate coming into, she's, she's
[00:54:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Admiral Janeway. Like now she gets to be a more experienced,
[00:54:17] [SPEAKER_02]: a more, you know, distinguished character than she was.
[00:54:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Everything that she's gone through, everything that she has learned.
[00:54:24] [SPEAKER_02]: This is what's going to, what's going to happen.
[00:54:26] [SPEAKER_02]: And but she still has those little corky moments, you know, especially with her coffee.
[00:54:30] [SPEAKER_02]: And all that stuff. And even I think it was episode two, because you know,
[00:54:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Dahl and Janeway had switched bodies at the end of one.
[00:54:41] [SPEAKER_02]: And he thought coffee was disgusting. And then when she's interrogating them,
[00:54:45] [SPEAKER_02]: he was all like, oh, this is so much better with sugar. Like those little details they
[00:54:49] [SPEAKER_02]: through in was so, but it wasn't like a shoe horned it. It was like perfectly well balanced
[00:54:56] [SPEAKER_02]: to add stuff that happened in season one and continue into season two, because these characters
[00:55:01] [SPEAKER_02]: are still going through this, this process, this, this story. So, and I think for Kate,
[00:55:07] [SPEAKER_02]: just being Janeway herself, she gets to do Janeway just a little bit differently. And I think
[00:55:12] [SPEAKER_02]: that's just so great to see and be able to just want more Janeway, right?
[00:55:19] [SPEAKER_04]: So, yes, more Janeway please. More Janeway and I start Nick Janeway.
[00:55:25] [SPEAKER_02]: We do. This, of course, I really did enjoy, you know,
[00:55:37] [SPEAKER_02]: poor Gwen, not sure what's going on, you know, the doctor made that device, which I think was
[00:55:41] [SPEAKER_02]: the device that they had for time scape? That the armband thing like in time scape
[00:55:48] [SPEAKER_02]: where Jordy and Troy, a card, and data where everything was frozen. Like,
[00:56:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Beverly got shot by the Romulans and it was these little, oh yeah. Yeah, that's the ironband thing, right?
[00:56:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, what like a more advanced? More advanced version of it. Yeah, you know,
[00:56:15] [SPEAKER_02]: and to kind of keep her, quote, quote, signature and place. And I just like those details.
[00:56:24] [SPEAKER_02]: And then, of course, like I said, this, this fifth episode really just kind of set the
[00:56:27] [SPEAKER_02]: paved the way to like, oh they're going to find Jakote. They're going to understand why they,
[00:56:32] [SPEAKER_02]: you know, but to me it was all like, but what's going to happen in the next 15 episodes?
[00:56:36] [SPEAKER_02]: It's just trying to find Jakote. Like, it was kind of, I wasn't really sure where it was going
[00:56:41] [SPEAKER_02]: ago. Did not see where it was going, and I was pleasantly surprised. But I think because we were so
[00:56:49] [SPEAKER_02]: focused on Jakote in this whole time, time you want me situation, the whole ascensia thing was kind
[00:56:54] [SPEAKER_02]: of lost to me. Yeah. Like her home just wasn't as big as the whole situation that was happening
[00:57:05] [SPEAKER_02]: with Wesley, right? Even though they were trying to stop her, she wasn't really the big
[00:57:11] [SPEAKER_02]: threat. Yeah. Right was trying to get the photo star where the belongs and saving Jakote at the same
[00:57:20] [SPEAKER_04]: time. So I don't know. That's just me. Again, like she didn't know what she was doing.
[00:57:29] [SPEAKER_04]: She was so in the other head. She just was trying to go with the flow and failed every way she could.
[00:57:35] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. I wanted to mention real fast that they mentioned the serritos from the doctor.
[00:57:42] [SPEAKER_02]: I have a see that's dysfunctionalities, this is the serritos which means he was on the serritos.
[00:57:49] [SPEAKER_04]: You're right. We do have another season coming. We have another season. We'll see how that goes.
[00:57:55] [SPEAKER_02]: And actually I did write in my notes. This is the episode where she interrogated them with the
[00:58:00] [SPEAKER_02]: coffee and the sugar. So this was actually a sub perfect. May gel, of course, ditches them. Even though
[00:58:07] [SPEAKER_02]: they came back together, she went to go sit with her nover squadron which I could understand why
[00:58:15] [SPEAKER_02]: well here's the thing. She just went through life in death with these people at least some of them.
[00:58:21] [SPEAKER_02]: And then she's a little like no, I have to go to you know to her people whatever. And of course,
[00:58:26] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know what had happened. What she was handling inflicted. She's confused because she's also
[00:58:32] [SPEAKER_04]: developing feelings for zero. For zero. Yeah. Right. So I think there's a lot going on. It's a
[00:58:40] [SPEAKER_02]: tough age, right? That is a tough age. Yeah. I think she just wanted to not disappoint her.
[00:58:46] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean the nova squadron was always like a crew in the room, right? And now here's this other crew and
[00:58:53] [SPEAKER_02]: she's kind of feeling conflicted because yeah, she just went through something with these people.
[00:58:58] [SPEAKER_02]: So she kind of bonded with them like and they went and did all that stuff. Yeah, that loyalty
[00:59:04] [SPEAKER_02]: to her to her squad, right? And then. Right. Yeah. And her squad doesn't understand. They weren't there,
[00:59:10] [SPEAKER_02]: right? They don't understand just what was going on yet. Now, of course, we do have the
[00:59:23] [SPEAKER_02]: all this random stuff. I feel like, I don't know. He was saying such random things and he's running
[00:59:29] [SPEAKER_02]: around like crazy. I thought that was hilarious. Then of course they need a Jillian, the whale,
[00:59:34] [SPEAKER_02]: to help translate and then Merck became some kind of a mermaid. But it was very sweet. I think
[00:59:38] [SPEAKER_02]: that he even did little head nudges. Like Merck was nervous, but he was happy with Jillian and
[00:59:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Jillian took care of him. It's just cute moments where you're just, oh. And of course,
[00:59:51] [SPEAKER_02]: this is where they went to rock, they're like, we need your help. But she's like, I don't
[00:59:54] [SPEAKER_02]: want to be involved. She's like, but I'm only doing this to help Merck, right? Like she has a
[01:00:00] [SPEAKER_04]: loyalty to Merck, right? She's like, I love you guys, but you guys are going to screw up my career here.
[01:00:05] [SPEAKER_02]: And now she's all like, what did she say? Like, well, just have to hang signs. This is,
[01:00:10] [SPEAKER_02]: you know, Brigh or something like for, you know, she's like just, right signs now that says Brigh.
[01:00:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, just put us in the Brigh. Like, this is what's going to happen. I important things. She's
[01:00:20] [SPEAKER_02]: caught in a rock in a hard place because she doesn't want to do something wrong and ruin her career,
[01:00:25] [SPEAKER_02]: but then she's like, but I also have a friend that's not happening there. What? Between rock
[01:00:30] [SPEAKER_02]: in a hard place, no pun intended. That was a no pun intended. That was a no pun intended. That's
[01:00:35] [SPEAKER_02]: those ones where I don't mean to that works out. And of course, she doesn't want anything to happen to
[01:00:41] [SPEAKER_02]: go in. That was kind of where they stuck in her and they're like, well, Gwen's got to die if you don't
[01:00:45] [SPEAKER_02]: listen, she's like, well, crap. No pressure. But I would do want to do this the last moment where
[01:00:57] [SPEAKER_02]: they get the numbers from Merff, Gwen puts it in her little device and she's flying through
[01:01:03] [SPEAKER_02]: space and she's hearing the mysterious ghost. And did they get coordinates? I'm not really sure
[01:01:14] [SPEAKER_02]: what she experienced in that moment except pain and some voice telling her to find him.
[01:01:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Was it not the same coordinates that were on the the console? Was it this, the,
[01:01:32] [SPEAKER_02]: the, the, the, the, the, the, the coordinates on the console, that was where to find Gwen.
[01:01:40] [SPEAKER_02]: Right. So because she was stuck in that same spot, but 52 and you know, she was stuck in both places.
[01:01:48] [SPEAKER_02]: So that's how they found her. Yeah. But this, she was out in space like she saw where she needed
[01:01:53] [SPEAKER_02]: to go. But I just didn't know how she knew how to get there. So then that was my little confusion.
[01:02:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Maybe I missed something if anyone wants to write in the comments perfectly, please do so because
[01:02:07] [SPEAKER_02]: I do miss these little details. Like your has been going off on certain things. I was like,
[01:02:11] [SPEAKER_02]: I can't believe they did that and I missed that. I didn't, how did I miss that? You know, and it's just
[01:02:17] [SPEAKER_02]: they thought of everything. For sure. So I don't know. I think that's where I think I was a
[01:02:26] [SPEAKER_02]: little confused on that part. But um, but real quick before we we wrapped this up, I did like the
[01:02:34] [SPEAKER_02]: moment between the doctor and Janeway when they decide to close the wormhole and not go
[01:02:40] [SPEAKER_02]: after Jaco J, because they have to. Right. Janeway is suffering a loss, but so was the doctor.
[01:02:49] [SPEAKER_02]: I think some people kind of forgot that because everyone's like, J, C, right?
[01:02:53] [SPEAKER_02]: Janeway and Jaco J. Doctor, if somebody he's known for years as well, yeah. Exactly. And
[01:03:04] [SPEAKER_02]: prove our programming right by growing and growing brown or programming. And he did, and this is a
[01:03:10] [SPEAKER_02]: friend. And he also has to say goodbye. And it was a nice little moment between those two characters that I
[01:03:16] [SPEAKER_02]: feel was important. Um, and then of course the kids went into the wormhole. The time hole.
[01:03:30] [SPEAKER_02]: The time hole. They're like a dilacy episode. I'm going to die loosey like, right now.
[01:03:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Die loosey. And I want to say zero is it's Ricky like, I mean, no, you know what? I'm no,
[01:03:50] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm taking about rock is Ricky. Zero is Fred like, oh, we're doing this again, but follows
[01:04:01] [SPEAKER_02]: and then Janeway. Or rock. I know, I just want to do science. Leave me alone.
[01:04:08] [SPEAKER_02]: I just want to win out with Jillian. Do my science? Oh my god. You know what I love about that
[01:04:15] [SPEAKER_04]: character is the wide eyed Wonder Mint all the time. Like when she goes down, and she's like,
[01:04:21] [SPEAKER_02]: citation ops. Yeah, she was so excited. I mean, they were all excited except for Dahl. But I do have to say
[01:04:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Dahl's was a disappointment. He's just like, and reading. Like what it's like, I feel like
[01:04:37] [SPEAKER_04]: also down like represents every ADHD kid ever because it's like they just we want to go, right?
[01:04:43] [SPEAKER_04]: But you know, you need to slow down. You need to do the work he has to know I want to go, right?
[01:04:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, it's like not in class at the beginning. He's out looking at the ships and, you know,
[01:04:52] [SPEAKER_04]: spends the whole, you know, first three, four episodes just rebelling against having to read quantum
[01:04:59] [SPEAKER_04]: yeah, whatever mechanics 101 time. And you end up doing and you know what got him to do it to
[01:05:06] [SPEAKER_02]: save Gwen. Right. And that's strictly an ADHD. Well, it's strictly anything. But I know from experience
[01:05:12] [SPEAKER_02]: from my daughter that if it's something that ends up being super important to her, she's going to do it.
[01:05:18] [SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely. So it was the perfect little part of like, okay, I'm going to learn this. And then,
[01:05:25] [SPEAKER_02]: you know, that's why they make in the joke because like, yes, I understand it now. But yeah,
[01:05:32] [SPEAKER_02]: I think that was a perfect part to it. But I thoroughly enjoyed this first episode. I've been to
[01:05:39] [SPEAKER_04]: the first day. I couldn't stop. Yeah, yeah, I think I had it done within two days. I was working
[01:05:46] [SPEAKER_02]: long days at the time. So yeah, I still happen to have the day off and I was like, all of it.
[01:05:53] [SPEAKER_04]: And I find you know what? I don't know how you feel about I much prefer shows week to week
[01:05:59] [SPEAKER_04]: because I feel like your brain has more time to digest true and like mallet over. And I find
[01:06:06] [SPEAKER_04]: when I when I do binge something, I actually forget things that have happened or everything molds into one.
[01:06:12] [SPEAKER_04]: It's like one big episode that it does. Yeah, so like when we're promoting each week and we were doing
[01:06:18] [SPEAKER_04]: the Twitter spaces, you know, your Twitter spaces that you had going on and and we were talking about them.
[01:06:23] [SPEAKER_04]: I felt that was that was great. But when we just drop a whole season of something all at one time,
[01:06:30] [SPEAKER_04]: like it's it seems fun when you're doing it. But then when when it's over in a day, you're like,
[01:06:36] [SPEAKER_04]: well, that was not 10 weeks of fun that was just today. It was just a day of fun. Yeah.
[01:06:42] [SPEAKER_02]: And then of course sometimes for me, I'm just like, I have to know now what's going on now.
[01:06:46] [SPEAKER_02]: And then I'll watch that. I think that's four weeks. That's the good thing. You know, and I said,
[01:06:51] [SPEAKER_04]: you know, some shows do work better as as as a binge. I'm a the walking dead. I don't know if you're
[01:06:58] [SPEAKER_04]: ever me tweeting about that. Yeah, much more enjoyed that show as a binge because you didn't have to wait.
[01:07:04] [SPEAKER_04]: But that was a stupid time and television where they like to drag things out and then they have
[01:07:08] [SPEAKER_04]: the midseason. Right. Now, using it had to wait 17 years to watch the rest of it. Exactly.
[01:07:16] [SPEAKER_02]: And then we're like, he said, it works for someone. It doesn't work for everything. And I think for this,
[01:07:20] [SPEAKER_02]: I think for prodigy was okay. But for podcasters is not all right. So I did have people on Twitter and
[01:07:28] [SPEAKER_02]: threads and all my other places vote. We only got 12 votes. And right, it seemed the majority of the
[01:07:35] [SPEAKER_02]: votes though went to the fourth episode, which is temporal mechanics at 42%. That was a good episode
[01:07:40] [SPEAKER_02]: because where they went and saved Gwen and we kind of were trying to figure out what this
[01:07:46] [SPEAKER_02]: timey, why me mysterious character was. But yeah, not many people voted. Maybe they might vote
[01:07:52] [SPEAKER_02]: more as the see is. And I think it's just because it got progressively better as the season went on.
[01:07:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, well, and I don't think to show ever, I don't think this season had any that episode. So I think
[01:08:03] [SPEAKER_04]: it was just that so it was where better than others, which is great. Yeah. And I don't remember
[01:08:08] [SPEAKER_04]: watching the season and thinking, could this episode could end now? Like let's just move,
[01:08:14] [SPEAKER_02]: let's move it on. Let's move on. Yeah. No, I think that was kind of the the reasoning behind
[01:08:22] [SPEAKER_02]: it. But it was a good episode. We were not sure what was happening. And like I said, the very end
[01:08:27] [SPEAKER_02]: with Merff and the ghost Wesley got you intrigued. But yeah, I think the season was pretty, pretty darn
[01:08:35] [SPEAKER_02]: good. Did you enjoy these first five episodes? Kept you engaged? I did. Yes. Yeah, very much so.
[01:08:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think it was a very good start to help people really want to know what was happening.
[01:08:49] [SPEAKER_02]: And it worked for me because I benched it in a day. So I think I think these episodes also do a
[01:08:55] [SPEAKER_04]: good job of like if you happen to not see season one, they did a good job of still kind of
[01:09:01] [SPEAKER_04]: filling you in on what happened. So yeah, it could just like put card season three where it's
[01:09:07] [SPEAKER_04]: a standalone season. I think that they've they've set this one up that it can be like that as well.
[01:09:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Like you could just watch season two and you know, if your friends were watching started watching,
[01:09:18] [SPEAKER_04]: you could just jump right in and watch with them and not feel like you were you were behind. But
[01:09:22] [SPEAKER_04]: if that's a case, still go back and watch season one because it's also good. It's also very good.
[01:09:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Especially I think it was episode seven, which is Kobe Ashi. Yeah, it's brought back by my
[01:09:32] [SPEAKER_04]: pressure. There we go. There it is. No, I would it when it came to this show, I remember
[01:09:39] [SPEAKER_04]: I was really looking forward to it. Like before season one dropped. And I remember being
[01:09:48] [SPEAKER_04]: more invested in the show than I thought it would be when it started. That's what people said.
[01:09:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, which is which is great. I think Aaron and the team did a fantastic job and
[01:10:00] [SPEAKER_04]: you know, you can see you can see it even in the the interview you did with them.
[01:10:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Just a passion he has for this show and the franchise. Yeah. Right. And it goes. It shows on screen
[01:10:09] [SPEAKER_02]: and the love for the characters. Yeah. Absolutely. No, he was very good at that part.
[01:10:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Right. And not just not just the legacy characters that we all hope to see in all these shows, but
[01:10:21] [SPEAKER_04]: you know, even the new characters that they've created. Right. So yeah, I think,
[01:10:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Picard did that too. I mean, we all love Rafi. Rafi's great. Right. And Rios.
[01:10:31] [SPEAKER_02]: And we'd love to be a draw. I love to love Shah. I love to love Shah. We love to hate him and
[01:10:37] [SPEAKER_02]: then we're like, oh, we don't want him to die. No, he died.
[01:10:41] [SPEAKER_02]: Ha ha ha ha. Whirlers. Whirlers. Sorry, people of the amin scene,
[01:10:45] [SPEAKER_02]: the part season 3 I just run it for you. He dies. It's been a year and a half. I say that with T and G.
[01:10:51] [SPEAKER_02]: But I'm like spoiler alert is like yeah, well, 37 years ago. So I think we're good.
[01:10:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Wait, what do you mean he was assimilated by the board? Because he can be saved.
[01:11:04] [SPEAKER_02]: Toon in next time. Well, that was our redhead alert. And it's because the next episode is going to be
[01:11:15] [SPEAKER_02]: shocker start shock prodigy episodes six through 10 with Jay.
[01:11:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Toon in next week, same time, same place. And yeah, these this is where it gets interesting guys as
[01:11:28] [SPEAKER_02]: you know and I might talk about episode nine and 10 for like an hour. So just six, seven,
[01:11:36] [SPEAKER_02]: they'll be like 10 minutes and then the rest is all about the time. But I'm excited. This is a
[01:11:44] [SPEAKER_02]: really good season. But of course, don't forget to like and subscribe this video so you can get
[01:11:49] [SPEAKER_02]: more pressure combo content on YouTube. You can buy merch at teapob if you could buy me a coffee.
[01:11:55] [SPEAKER_02]: You can go to kreshacombo.com for more information. And of course, you can also listen
[01:12:00] [SPEAKER_02]: the audio versions of these episodes on your favorite podcast app, which I'm I'm a Spotify girl.
[01:12:09] [SPEAKER_02]: And I do like good pods. I'm not gonna like, but Jay, this was fun. I hope you're enjoying the
[01:12:16] [SPEAKER_02]: season and I can't wait for next week. So I think you have anything to say and if into
[01:12:22] [SPEAKER_02]: or they could find you real fast before we go. Well, I can be found on Twitter.
[01:12:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Also on YouTube, I was doing some streaming video games, but got in your job in that kind of
[01:12:39] [SPEAKER_04]: I will tease just, I do have a little another project kind of in the works right now with a
[01:12:45] [SPEAKER_04]: friend. We're just not at the stage to even kind of be a coming, coming soon type thing. But it's
[01:12:54] [SPEAKER_04]: you know, hopefully hopefully in the next few weeks we'll start nailing some things down and
[01:12:58] [SPEAKER_04]: some details and that's nice. But it's it's coming along for sure. And it is absolutely
[01:13:03] [SPEAKER_04]: trek related. You know what I'm trying to tell you. But what I'm talking about, it is it is
[01:13:12] [SPEAKER_04]: trek related and that's all I'll say for now, but yeah, follow me on Twitter. But yeah, once I
[01:13:17] [SPEAKER_04]: we're in a place where we want to talk about about this project, I'll start posting on Twitter
[01:13:22] [SPEAKER_02]: and stuff. So perfect. And I will repost it all I can. So but yes, thanks you guys, thanks for watching.
[01:13:30] [SPEAKER_02]: Thanks for everyone who was watching. Really appreciate it. Long live in prosper. See you later guys.
